Ebay is profiting from Shipping Fees

Did you know that ebay is profiting from the shipping fees? Looking at the Managed Payments we now have to deal with (every seller wants to go back to pay pal), I have noticed that the fee,  ebay asses is based on the auction AND shipping fees.  For example:  My HEAVY  doll sold for $40.  shipping cost - Priority Mail is $19.50. The $19.50 is not a profit for me.  It is the actual shipping cost I have to pay when printing my labels.  Now mind you, ebay will assess their fee based on $59.50!!!! When I contacted ebay about it, here is their reply:  "We have charged shipping costs like this for years, because sellers have been known to charge EXTRA shipping cost in order to pay for their ebay fees."  Did you know that!!!

Yet, when a customer leaves legitimate negative feedback for excess shipping cost, ebay removes that feedback and they are profiting from it!!!!!!!! Their policy is that once you see the shipping cost charged, no matter how high, you are entering into a contract.  Sooner or later ebay will go bankrupt because sellers AND customers are tired of how they are being treated!!!

EBay has been collecting a FVF on shipping for 10 years now and you have been on ebay for 15. Are you just now realizing this or are you just jumping on the the Bash EBay Bandwagon?

eBay has been charging the final value fee on shipping as well as the price of the item for at least 10 years.

The buyer sees the estimated shipping cost before bidding or buying.  If it seems exorbitant, he can simply hit the back arrow.

More news for you:  eBay's FVF is also charged on the state sales tax the buyer pays, if applicable.

Not just on the selling and shipping prices, but also on the state sales tax price.  Now you can get really torqued.

It is a percentage of the TOTAL PRICE that you, the seller, are charging a buyer; to get that item to their front porch.

It's just a 'simplified' way to charge a fee.

If they just charged 20% of the sale- like AZ does, seller would be doing what they did that spurred this years ago.

Sell $100 items for $1 with $99 shipping.

Bottom line; you sell for $50 plus $20 ship. That's $70 with 13% fees leaves you $60. Take away $20 for shipping, you get $40.

Want more?? Sell item for $5 more,$10 more, $15000 more...whatever you believe you need to sell it at to

A.) Make the profit you want

B.) Will still sell and be competitive (If this one is not working out, you simply are not buying right)

EBay now charges 12.55% on each transaction plus 30 cents. This includes the item, any shipping the buyer paid, and any taxes the buyer paid. Previously eBay charged 10% on the item and any shipping the buyer paid. PayPal charged 2.9% on the total transaction plus 30 cents. In essence you were previously paying eBay and PayPal 12.9% on the item and shipping, 30 cents on the transaction, and you were paying PayPal 2.9% on any taxes the buyer paid.
