I recently had to file my first claim with ebay international standard delivery. I used the delivery system on a package I sent to the UK. The package arrived in the UK but was never delivered. When filing a claim, I was only allowed to claim the amount of the sale and not the additional $22.00 it cost to ship to the UK. I think if they are going to guarantee a delivery then I should get reimbursed for the total amount. Price of item PLUS cost of shipping. When I filed the claim, I tried adding in the cost of shipping to the claim (the purchase price was $44.75 and the shipping fee was $22.00 so the total is still under the $100 maximum). The system only allowed the purchase price and only reimbursed me the purchase price ($44.75). Now I have to reimburse the buyer the total paid plus the shipping fee and all I get back is the purchase price. Why is this?

I dont know about international delivery, but in the U.S. you dont get the shipping fee back.

As far as I know the program doesn't 'guarantee delivery', that's why the insurance is included. They do state in the help page info that insurance is only for the item amount.
If you believe your package was lost in shipping, you must wait 30 days to file a claim. You can reduce the amount of the claim if your shipment was only partially lost or damaged, however the claim amount cannot be more than the item's sold price.
