For the amount of Fees Ebay charges I expect them to have some kind of phone service (gone) or live chat (no longer) or email (Nope cant do that either). I have some fees I got overcharged for shipping when I always check my weights and measures. Used to be an email I could send that to and get a response "customerhelp@ebay.com" but even THAT now says does not receive inbound emails The help section is just worthless. I dont want to spend an hour JUST trying to get an answer and unfortunately Ebay just charges me with out my consent (realize that is part of the TOS) but without a way to directly get this resolved its just unacceptable. Does anyone have a quick way to get this resolved that now Ebay wants to hide behind no direct way of being contacted??

Hi @thegadgetguy37 . Let's first figure out the reason for the cost adjustment, then move on to how to appeal and if it's an option.
I assume this was either UPS or FedEx and not USPS, correct? If the answer to that is yes, read on.
There are many surcharges with UPS and FedEx that are not factored in until the carrier physically reviews the package as eBay's shipping calculator does not currently have a way to factor in non-standard packaging.
In order to help you determine if your charge was legit or in error (and how to appeal), view the label details and expand the section on the bottom right that says see cost breakdown (highlighted below in green). Black out order #, tracking #, and buyer ID and post a screenshot.
Please also provide a physical description of the package (box, bag, tube, box with handle, etc).

You can find guides for all carriers on eBay Seller Center under "preventing shipping label price adjustments."

I can't be bothered by being charged extra as a surprise...I take items that need tracking and walk them to the post office...a quick fix. I don't like surprises like this.
Everything is going artificial intelligence...so it's not going to get better.
Will I save money doing eBay shipping labels...yes...but my time trying to fix a problem such as this which I read about every day here over and over.
Can you get refunds?...Yes...if you want to spend the time doing it to get that refund in a few weeks.

Appreciate the time you took to write the answer. I ended up speaking with someone after having to go fifty levels into Ebays help page. I contested it and looks like it will be adjusted back. Honestly with other selling platforms like FBMP I dont have to deal with this kind of crap, Ebay always nickel and dimes you.

You can buy shipping labels THROUGH Facebook Marketplace?

It’s called “weaponizing customer service” and its just one of the types of predatory behavior endemic to this disgusting company and its principals

People with PayPal accounts can buy labels for non-eBay sales, basically, any company that does e-commerce that isn’t this Santa Clara county clown show.

And you can still get charged even if you use Shipstation.
I know. I have. USPS said that my Ground Advantage box was a Priority Mail flat rate envelope and upcharged me (it was quite obvious that what had happened was that someone else's envelope had piggybacked on top of my box when it went through the scanner). I contacted the USPS, explained that my package was a box rather than an envelope, and got a refund within the week.
