Ebay does NOT follow it's own rules???

Ebay no longer followers any posted rules they make up, I called today to close a return, 

THIS IS ON MY RETURN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We've asked the buyer to ship the item back by Jul 28. Wait until you get the item back before issuing a refund.You should wait until you get the item back before you refund the buyer. Please ensure that you issue the refund within 2 business days of the item being delivered. If the buyer doesn't send the item back by Jul 28 we may close this return.

I CALLED TODAY TO CLOSE IT AND THEY SAID NO, IT WILL CLOSE WHEN IT IS READY TO CLOSE OR WHEN WE WANT TOO!!!!!?????  IT IS NOW THE 29TH FOR ALL OF YOU THAT DIDN'T KNOW, (EBAY)

 I ALREADY WAITED THE &*^^%$ 30 DAY THEN SHIP BACK POLICIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are these the policies!!!!!!!!!!!! You failed to read?????!!! Which eBay is following:

How much time are buyers given to ship returned items?
When buyers are sent an eBay-generated return label, the return is closed if the label is not printed within 10 business days. If the buyer prints the label, we allow the return to remain open an additional 5 business days to ensure shipping scans are captured.

Changes to handling return requests that appear abandoned
Starting April 1, 2020, we will no longer close returns early at the request of a seller when the buyer has not shipped the item back.

I do read and it states ship back BY the 28th (in there own words) , pretty straight forward, it was not shipped and is still not shipped!!!!  

But according to the ebay cheerleader I can not read! LOL

The 2020 Spring Seller update stated that eBay will no longer close returns when a seller calls in to request the return to be closed.  Instead, they have an internal timeline they will use to automatically close abandoned returns.  You can read the details on this page:

My recent return(not returned) was due to be in the mail by 7-21.

eBay closed it out on the 8th day after that deadline.

I did not call them because:

1) low dollar item that, even though it was my money, I could wait for. After all, the sale was back in June. Few more days did not concern me. I was aware that eBay was allowing buyers extra time to return.

2) I had called them in the past, and was told it will close out automatically in xx days.
