I've been an ebay lover since 1999, but they have become ridiculous lately. What is the deal with accepting a return because the buyer didn't like the item? Nothing wrong with the item, it was simply buyer's remorse because they were stupid and didn't measure, or think what size they need (measurements were even given). And now I have to pay for them to return the item to me? And then I have to relist it and start all over? Thank you ebay for costing me time and money?

Thats a remorse return, doesnt fit, or dont like it, and since you do not accept returns you should have been able to refuse it.

"... it was simply buyer's remorse..."
If the buyer listed a remorse reason in the Return, you can deduct the shipping from the refund.
For what it's worth, I find that if an item sells once, it will again. Get your item back to relist for the right buyer. Good luck.

Is this really a hill to fight for?
How many returns do you get? I have a $5.00 item being returned today. It's my 2nd actual return
in 5 years.
It's simply part of doing business. And if you are selling mail order / internet on ebay, You are a business.

They never gave me a chance to refuse it. I've been in this situation 3 times now and it used to never happen.

When the case was opened, you didnt respond with a refusal as a remorse return? Or did she file an item not as described case? If thats what happened, you cant refuse. Did Ebay have to step in?

What reason was chosen when the buyer filed the return request @arthur789? Ignore the buyer's comments in the return for the time being.
Go to this page and find the return. If you don't see it then change the filter from open returns to closed returns. Towards the right you'll see a Details column and at the bottom it will give a reason. What does that say?

They have for many years. If a buyer says SNAD , the seller is gonna be SAD.

If you got stuck paying return shipping, the buyer filed an INAD and not a remorse return.
When they file an INAD, not much you can do.

And if ebay did it instead of you, is it possible you missed all of the notifications of a return request? Because if ebay stepped in it, then that's not a good thing.
