Ebay Needs To Post Notice That Tracking Is Not Working

There needs to be a notice added to Ebay that states system tracking is not working. Majority of my orders are going back to "preshipment" after the item is already in transit. 

With USPS delays this causes extra heartburn when buyers message that "it looks like it hasn't left" when they don't bother reading the entire tracking, or go directly to USPS because they rely on Ebay to be correct.

I have been advised by customer service that this is being worked on, but it's obviously not being fixed.

I agree 100%. I have several packages that are showing zero tracking information. Some of them shipped over a week ago. Ebay needs to protect the sellers this time of year.

eBay could easily suspend INR cases during this time making buyers unable to open the INR case, I have had packages say out for delivery for 5 days now, I am almost guaranteed to lose that money in a case, even if the item has been delivered. We as sellers need to do everything in our power to put eBay on blast, they are doing nothing to handle this situation and putting the financial responsibility on the seller, taking the easy way out true eBay style. I personally have already contacted my local news stations, not for the story of the post office being behind but for the simple fact that eBay is totally fine with their sellers taking 100% of the financial responsibility for this issue, when NONE of it is our fault! Blast them on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, every single media outlet you can find!!!

As of 12/19/20 the United States Post office has collapsed! I have several hundred items for sale but I took them all off because 80% of about 40 packages I shipped out via USPS are still in the system and for weeks some of them, a couple of packages after 13 days made it to NJ main distribution center from NY and thats just the start of the journey. and FORGET ABOUT TRACKING, sometimes packages get scanned many days after I drop them off at the post office, or worse, when they are at the customers doorstep! Ebay says most packages  are getting to their destinations on time THAT IS A FLAT OUT 110% LIE that will only lead to customers complaining and opening up cases

I can top that. I have 25 packages that all have zero tracking since Dec. 7th when my mail carrier picked them up.

I feel bad for powersellers that have dozens of packages in limbo. I decided i won't sell anything on Ebay until things return to some semblance of normality.

I'm concerned as a very rare one of a kind item was priority mailed 10 days ago and no tracking updates since the day I mailed it. I can't imagine the stress of sellers who sent dozens of parcels.

To make matters worse most USPS workers don't seem to give a **bleep**. The workers I talked to were 100 times ruder than the rudest worker at the DMV

Estimated delivery dates ....why.... ebay dose not ship anything and all shippers USPS/FEDX/UPS are saying they have heavy delays with shipment.
buyers are opening item not received cases and there's no tracking info to upload.
so ebay will refund the buyer and my business loses inventory and sales $$$
than ebay want sellers to let them manage payments (((give ebay my bank info and ss number REALLY...... dec 1st no tracking on over 35 items sold

ebay should do something about this but like the USPS they don't have to refund or lose $$$$$ so they don't care.

My packages also don't get any tracking in my state. I could use a SCAN form but I don't want to wait on line  every day out in the snow.

I will say that I've actually been really impressed at how patient and understanding my buyers have been, for the most part. I get a lot of questions from buyers who only see "Preshipment" in the tracking and think their order hasn't shipped. But then when I let them know the situation the vast majority have been patient about it. So far only a few INR cases have been opened. I lucked out with them and the items all got their first scans within a couple days of the cases being opened so I was then able to get 10-day holds placed on them. They all got delivered before 10 days was up.

My local post office actually enabled the "Scan prepaid mailpiece" feature on their self-service kiosk last week for the first time ever. For a long time now I've heard about this feature being tested out in various post offices around the country, but we never had that option enabled here. The only way to get a scan in my zip code had always been waiting on line for a receipt. But last week I scanned my items myself one by one at the self-service kiosk. The tracking entry says "USPS expects item for mailing (SSK)" without any timestamp. The machine warns you that this isn't a true acceptance scan, but eBay at least does seem to consider it good enough. It shows as "Accepted" when you view the tracking info through eBay.

Unfortunately we have to act proactively.  I always send a message to the buyer about the possibility of delays because of USPS backup.  Most of them understand.  However, I recently got a message from a customer who's item shipped that they wanted to cancel.  TOO LATE!  Package is in the hands of USPS.  You have to wait.

I now have to make a spreadsheet column with the USPS tracking # on it, so that I can see if package arrived.

It's too bad UPS doesn't accept first class mail.  But I'm almost at the point of sending all my 1st class with signature confirmation because of USPS delays.  I may even start charging more for shipping and sending things via UPS.

Get this:  After noticing that a buyer had not received their order ("delivered") I contacted them, and yep they received it.  But Ebay hadn't noted it was delivered.  I contacted @ebayhelp on twitter to change to delivered, but they said it was the responsibility of the PO to mark it delivered.  I filed a missing mail report, maybe that will get it done.

Titanictarn, I think they care, but they're under pressure from all sides.  They get no help from Congress.  What we as sellers have to do is find a way to push our goods to UPS, DHL, or FEDEX and get the sellers to pay for shipping.

Have any of your missing 25 packages been delivered since you posted? Are your buyers demanding refunds or threatening negative feedback?

still have every first class package shipped on dec. 8th no tracking... i think 98%

of the  packages will get delieverd  just with no tracking so if the buyer opens an inr case i'll loses that case. strange though priority packages are being delieverd

i don't think the shipping problem will be solved anytime soon all these packages that got deleiverd late 50% will get returned in jan. because they did not make it by x-mas so buyer will return them.
