Ebay Label Error, label was purchased multiple times

I got an error this morning printing labels through the new system so i switch to the classic to see if it worked. As soon as I purchased a label through classic, I got a notification that I had 4 ebay preapproved shipping charges on paypal. So the "error'd label" that it gave me no option to print actually charged me 3x. I requested a void on these three labels that weren't supposed to exist.

Should I report this error to ebay or do I just need to wait however long for the void process?

Something is seriously wrong here.

FedEx doesn’t charge eBay (and therefore eBay doesn’t charge Paypal) until the label is actually submitted to their shipping counter. It doesn’t matter how many or how matter times you print it. Until you actually submit the label to FedEx it is nothing more than a decorated piece of paper.

Because of that there is no “void label” option for FedEx. “Voiding” a FedEx label is as simple as just never using it.

There is no way you got charged for a FedEx label that you never used.

USPS does pre-approved charges through PayPal for shipping. They aren't FEDEX labels. USPS charges you at time of purchase of label, so you have to request a void that takes between two weeks and 30 days to be refunded.

same thing happened to me.  each time the error message occured, i got charged.  Not sure if voiding the label is the thing to do unless they all would have had a different number.  Voiding it may actually void the printed label causing the item to be returned.

I've filed a complaint through Paypal for unapproved use.  They are investigating.  In the meantime, I am not able to use ebay shipping so I miss getting the discount.  

Just wrong!!  This happened with two sold items. The first I got charged twice.  The second I got charged 3 times!

If you are using the new label flow, use the option on the page to return to the old label flow.

Can you let me know what the error message you received stated? I want to get this reported and I'm sure they'll want to know the wording of that message. Thanks!

I'm pretty sure it just said an error has occurred along the top of the window in red text. There were definently no numbers or codes. I remember thinking it was weird it didn't have a code. When you clicked purchase label, it spun, then reloaded the page and said an error has occurred while going back to the original buy a label screen.

I then clicked go to classic label screen print or whatever as it didn't give me any labels and purchased one fine through there. That's when I got all the notifications from PayPal that a bunch of labels had been purchased.

When you look at the labels in the purchased labels it doesn't show them as linked to any order, clicking the tracking gives a blank screen unless you go on USPS.com and the only option was to void and not reprint.

Hi @labs118, the developers were able to find the cause of the issue and should have it resolved soon. If anyone ran into this problem and didn't void the labels that couldn't be printed, they will automatically be credited.

FedEx does not charge eBay until after the shipment is delivered.
eBay never charges PayPal for FedEx labels - they are billed on the seller's eBay invoice.
