$8.99 plus $8.60 is $17.59. Where did they come up with this number? The buyer paid the correct amount.

I am as lost as you say ebay is - I come up with 8.60+8.99=17.59 too. or are you saying the 19.35 is wrong? Could it be tax? If so and you failed to collect it, eBay will have you pay it most likely.

Is the buyer in one of the sales tax states? 17.59 +10% gets you to 19.35

If you're talking about the big difference in postage, that's because you listed with retail pricing and there is no retail pricing for 15 oz.  Your buyer was charged the Priority rate for  1 lb Zone 7

I'm going with sales tax. If eBay collected sales tax from the buyer, then eBay may be showing you what the buyer paid, not what you collected. If the missing gap is sales tax, the buyer will see two PayPal transactions: one from you for $17.59 and a separate sales tax transaction with eBay for $1.76.  Other's have mentioned that the sales tax had been causing a problem with "packing slip" totals, and that may be part of the reason totals were dropped from the ebay "paid invoices" that were posing as packing lists.  (Packing lists, by definition, do not contain prices, whereas a "paid invoice" would show prices).

Did you only receive the 17.59(before PayPal's cut).  There are a few counties in Washington with a 10% tax rate if its going there. Would be nice if there was some little ? mark there you could click to explain the difference. Like your buyer paid sales tax and we collected 1.75 for you. I will have to watch for this I haven't noticed it yet myself.

I posted the same issue and apparently it is the sales tax. The question is why does eBay not make it clear on the form?

Yes, it's going to WA. When I clicked on Print invoice/packing slip from the sales page, the tax still doesn't show up, but that has to be what it is for.

It is a 10% difference and is likely to be sales tax.

Ebay could and should do a better job displaying this stuff.  It just doesn't have to be this confusing.

Yea eBay, why don't you make it clear? Because you always make everything in your site crystal clear. stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye

That isn't how that works.  Please don't scare those that may not know this is incorrect.

Ebay has NOTHING, ZERO, ZIP to do with what taxes a seller may or may not owe.  EVER!!!!

Sales tax that Ebay collects from buyers in certain states is Ebay's responsibility to remit to the respective state.  The seller is NOT financially responsible to pay these taxes, Ebay is.  They have to abide by the laws in states that have passed Facilitator laws.

I guess ebay figures that since the seller is out of-the-loop on the sales tax - the seller doesn't charge it or collect it or report it - it isn't the figure with which the seller needs to be concerned.  It isn't calculated in the seller totals.
