I've been avoiding it like the plaque but today I discussed that the old "Go to classic label printing" link has been replaced with "Where is classic label printing?" and there is a survey on that page, so basically you have to use the new page now -- and it's God awful.
The old one was concise and one page. Why do I need to scroll?
It slows down the old process. You also have to enter dimensions for ANYTHING over 1 lbs when in reality, unless it is of a certain dimensions, it will not hike the shipping price more than the case amount based on weight.
To top it off, it double billed me for the same label.
eBay, PLEASE stop "fixing" things NO ONE asked you to fix.

I had a chance to mess around with the new label system some more using one my eBay accounts that is not Top Rated.
In this listing we were looking a large lot of items in their retail case. A portion of one end of the retail case box had been removed to allow retail customers to buy individual items from the case. After weighing and measuring the case I determined it would require a internal insert to cover the portion of the missing panel and to tighten up the contents from movement during shipment. It would also require a protective cardboard wrap - i.e., an existing flattened box would along its seam and wrapped arond the existing case to form an outer box. A task easily and quickly accomplished by using the back of a pair of wallpaper scissors as a scoring tool. I estimated a size of 38 x 16 x 7 and weight 42 pounds.
The actual size was 37.5 x 16 x 7.5, with a weight of 40 pounds. eBay's label system placed a red border around the 37.5 and 7.5 because eBay's system wants the seller to round up these figures. That is a very bad idea eBay! Forcing sellers to round up box sizes could easily mean that the box could incur additional punitive rates from USPS. This is especially worrisome for new sellers who could easily find themselves incurring a significant increase in the cost of the package simply because the rounded figures exceed a particular USPS size.
I printed my label at Pirateship, which not not only accepted the fractual values but stored them during an additional edit. Pirateship does what eBay should be doing: A. Accepting fractional measurements & B. not rounding up those figures if the seller has to do an additional edit before printing the label.
Another fine example of eBay fake public image contrasting with how out of touch eBay management is with actually selling on eBay. Who do they have programming this new label system? 1,000 monkies with 1,000 typewriters?

complain about it as much as possible. What ever tech team created this mess should be fired or sued.
today I cant get a FIRST CLASS label. I dont even understand how that can be possible.
I have a 13oz item/package that i have shipped first class many times before and this time my only options are parcel select and priority mail. And I can't complain about it again because I've already filled out that survey within the past 24 hours. I don't know why I can't make a complaint more than once in 24 hours. I certainly have more than one problem every 24 hours.
It looks like they tried to mitigate the complaints about the never ending scrolling by separating USPS packaging from the self packaging options which only made things worse in my opinion. I'm worried they're going to keep trying to put lipstick on this pig and make us take it out to the dance.
EBay please bring back the classic system the new one is horrible. You guys do not understand how much of our time you waste. People that are shipping 80 or hundred or 200 items a day and have to do them one label at a time are wasting a lot of time with this new system. Moments are very precious to us in this new system creates an awful lot of stress.

Awful!
Last several days when I try to print shipping label, the only option it shows is priority.
I don’t even offer priority shipping...only free first class for buyers.
Have to go PayPal ship now to print a label and then manually add the tracking number.
Total waste of time!

Why were these pages changed? Who are they catering to with 'new' designed sellers pages? I know I am not the only one who doesn't get it.Some months back, I think during one of the Weekly Chats, an eBay official grudgingly conceded that the real reason for the new Shipping form (such as it is, so far), was that they were finding it too difficult to maintain or upgrade the old one.
Reading between the lines, I got the clear impression that the programmers who wrote the code for the "classic" form were no longer available, and whoever they had retained now did not understand it; hence the clean-sheet approach with a new Shipping form. That first effort was so cluelessly inept that it appeared that the current programmers did not understand shipping either, at least not for U.S. carriers.
They are slowly learning more about U.S.-based shipping, though sellers are the ones doing the actual testing, which can only occur if the "classic" form is made progressively harder to find.
IMO - having done mainframe programming - if the newer people on staff don't understand it, then they are responsible to print the code, review it, retrain themselves as may be needed so they can understand it and do it right. Why are they so lazy? Another search can be done for older, more established programmers who DO understand code and can get it right, the first time.
Don't rewrite it - don't re-invent the wheel - just fix as needed - and these changes are not needed.

For all the reasons stated, I agree.
Ebay has a habit of "fixing" what is not broken. New label page. New purchase history page, (but they may have listened there, I got my old one back). Active page.
Common thread: Dumbed down GUI's, too much white space, ugly one color plus black "designs". Simple to the extent of being useless, choices are hidden, many more mouse clicks are required, even if you can stumble upon what you need.
Not everyone is on a phone. Especially sellers running a business. What most people want is clear page design, choices to find the best shipping option/cost, minimizing scrolling required. The new help and contact page is horrible. Why so much white space? You have to go to the bottom to find the link for community discussions.
If enough people speak up maybe someone will listen.
Thank you

@mamabeardsley wrote:We do not need an e-mail specifying our "eBay label us ready for printing." There is no longer an option for first class printing over 15 ounces but under 1 pound. It is very unwieldy to compare postal services and their prices. Dimensions now have to be added for everything, which was not the case with the classic printing. I fail to see how these changes enhance the seller experience.
Can't stand that stupid email. I've already printed the label from it's page don't need a reminder to do it.

ebay always does this, they make upgrades that are actually downgrades, im almost done after 15 years selling here, another problem i have with the new label page is i click to open the label and the window opens up blank, i have to download the label and go that route, so man wasted steps to print a label, takes an extra 2 minutes that can add up if your printing lots of labels a day

Dear eBay , Please just make the new shipping label page, much more like the old (Classic) Page...
For one thing, Please put the (print shipping price on the label) option tick box back up next to the "purchase & print label" like it was... this would help
and yet..... Shipping internationally still brings me to the "classic" page... just serving to remind me how much I like the "Classic" page, and making it harder for me to get used to the new shipping label page (requiring so many more clicks & scrolling! )
The classic page is (was) so much more relaxing than the new one....

I hate the new eBay printing page!!! There are many others beyond those who posted here that feel the same way.
Here is the the 14th of June and there hasn't been a post on this thread since May 24th!!
eBay folks must be relaxing thinking that the complaints about the POS they dropped on the sellers have finally died down.
Well, eBay wonks, think again. Took me awhile to get irritated enough to seek this forum because all my specific feedback to eBay was ignored about how awful the new program is...
Everything that has been written in the prior complaints about how **bleep** the new printing program is true. Nobody exaggerated!! The new system should be flushed down the toilet, the programmers and managers who did this travesty should be fired.. It's a slap in the face to sellers!
It doesn't take rocket scientist to add up the advantages stated by sellers in the prior posts of the "old" shipping label program over the new to the sellers in productivity, choice, ease of administration, etc,. . The "old" shipping label program was clearly heads and shoulders above the new.
I view the lack of response from eBay to all the criticism is because eBay thinks they're the only game in town... who gives a **bleep** if the sellers are **bleep** off? Where they going to go??? HA HA HA HA HA!!!
Let's see, after starting back in 1995, did eBay gain momentum in the next decade from buyers??!! Hmmm???? Nope! eBay needs people who SELL stuff....I think they are called SELLERS! Wonder what they call us in the eBay suites??
Start writing the eBay execs..... start using some of the other sites.....

The first time we used it vs old I was not impressed. HOWEVER we took our time using it and find the following:
Each item you can double check the measurements ect, Pay for shipsaver insurance per item if needed.
Scan sheet set up was different but If you allow a popup window on it then you will see the old syle of scan sheet and label page then you can download or print it.
I think it's a improvement. (So far)

Dont you know that ebay web designers run this joint, what they want goes, and they will tell you that you ask for and wanted this mess. Everything they have done has cost us more and more time, oh and while there messing with the "LOOKS" constantly, you won't have any sales. CHANGES causes lost sales.

Do not like, new set up . I sell for a non profit. Keep copy of labels, not sure how to get one, unless iI print and void than print again. Yes , I did that, first time on the new page, not sure how to print smaller labels either. Might work better and faster just write out the label. Not sure , does USPS site work well for label printing ? Kinda sad, I vote for the Classic back !!!
