So I had a buyer submit postive feedback saying:
Item did not work but I got a refund.
I wasn't even aware someone refunded them. There is no resolution case open, and nothing showing in paypal showing the refund.
I wasn't even notified by the buyer something was wrong.
Does Ebay give refunds without even notifying the seller?

Did the refund come from your pocket or ebay's?

How odd.
Though surely Ebay's Moneyback Guarantee is not dependent on the Seller's approval.
Obviously its not still open but there must be a (quickly) closed case somewhere in the Resolution History on Ebay or Paypal... perhaps buyer called CS and got a courtesy refund, or simply mixed up your transaction with another?

Ya I can't find any case on it. So weird. I just hope it doesn't affect me, because I didn't even get a chance to fix the issue 😞

Buyer may have accidentally left fb for you, meant for someone else. Or, check your defects for unresolved cases. Did the NAD go unnoticed and buyer asked eBay to step in, resulting in an automatic refund? If so, you will have a Defect for unresolved cases

Hope it was just a mistake. I have messaged the buyer so I guess I will wait and see. There are no defects for it, so I guess no case was opened. I just wanted to know if there was a refund and I have to pay it, there would have been a case needed to be opened correct?

I've gotten some strange feedback before. One customer bought flatware but left me feedback about the great boat part. I just left it alone as it was positive. It will roll off the first page eventually.

Defects take a couple of days to show up on your dashboard.
When you go into your cases, I am assuming that you are checking for "closed cases". If there's nothing in the closed cases, then just assume that the buyer got his feedback messed up.
