I have always used large bubble wrap. I sell nothing larger than would ship regular Priority Mail. Lately the bubble wrap I've purchased seems to pop rather easily just from handling it, although the item always seems safely wrapped when I'm done and I've had no breakage issues -- but I may be using more than necessary if the quality was better. Hard to judge quality except by reviews, and many time people say "last purchase from this seller was better quality than current stock". I'm wondering about buying the smaller bubble size where I get not quite twice as much for the same price as the larger bubbles. We will be packing to move soon, so if I need to revert back to large bubbles, the small will not go to waste. I discovered earlier this year that there are sellers who, um, make a "mistake" when selling goods by the foot, so any bubble wrap will be measured from now on.

I ship vases so use the large bubble.
Small bubble is all but useless IMO.
The only thing it's good for is making it LOOK LIKE you are careful about shipping. Chances are that if small bubble wrap is enough, it probably didn't need it in the first place.

I use a mixture, depending on the item.
