I have a buyer who bought two things separately and I'm going to combine them in one shipment. The total price of both items is over $750. Do I need signature confirmation to have seller protection?
I wanted to check with what people say here but I'm pretty sure I don't need it right? Seller protection is determined by each transaction individually, which is under $750 for each of the two purchases (they have two different order numbers). It'd be different if the buyer paid for both items in the same transaction. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I'd rather buy it and not need it, than skip it and later wish I hadn't taken the cheap way out.
Message your buyer that you are needing him to sign for it so he isn't surprised.

Yes, you need signature confirmation. You need it any time a package is worth over $750.

I don't know what the "official" answer is, but if it were me, I would get signature conformation.
Like @dirk12955 said, I would also let the buyer know.
Some buyers get upset when they are unaware that they have to sign for a package.

Yea I was gonna say. Then I'd have to wait for the buyer to reply and if he isn't okay with that location an address change would have to be made. And I forgot to mention that the item is kiiiind of time sensitive.
All in all, I might just take the safe route and ship them separately without SC but immediately at least. Then I'll ask ebay CS later on. I'm surprised I wasn't able to find this topic mentioned before here. My detective skills are like Inspector Gadget.

eBay uses the word "order" for the $750. So since you have two individual orders, signature confirmation is not required if you find a way to apply the single tracking number to both orders.
If the order has a total cost (including shipping costs and any taxes) of $750 or more, you're required to purchase signature confirmation to be protected if a buyer reports an item not received or opens a payment dispute.

I have a related hypothetical question. If a buyer makes an order of 4 different items (one purchase so one order number for the 4 items) and all 4 items are shipped in one package, what does the buyer see in terms of filing INR? They’d have to file 4 different INRs for each item right?
So technically a buyer is allowed to have some items filed as INR and some not even if they were shipped in the same package?
