I bought an item and listing photos showed it was in good condition. When received, I immediately noticed it was damaged before I even removed it from the box. Emailed seller re: return of damaged item and she said I was responsible for return shipping and that she'd be losing $ on the sale if she paid the return cost. She also denied item was shipped damaged and implied that I damaged it, accused me of bullying her because I expect her to pay for return per eBay policy! Attempts to discuss situation end up with seller being defensive, accusatory, unprofessional. The drama is real with this lady! Even though she says if I send it back she will give me a refund, she will never agree in writing to pay for the return shipping. Mind you, I paid 99 cents for this item but if I pay $8 to send it back to her she has the item and I'm out $8! So now I don't even care and I just want to throw the stupid thing in the trash and get on with my life, however eBay is making me wait to leave feedback. I don't trust her, I am done trying to work this out with her, and frankly it **bleep** me off that I have to wait until the 23rd. Is eBay going to force me to send it back to her if I try to leave negative feedback?

Why haven’t you opened a “not as described” case? eBay will force the seller to pay for return shipping.

All this stress over a .99 cent item?
Did you pay $8 in shipping?

This is correct. Time to stop arguing and just let eBay Buyer Protection do its job.

Ummm.... file a SNAD complaint with eBay.

As you've been given a date, it sounds like you opened a return. Did you choose damaged for the reason?
If so, then the seller must provide you with a return shipping label at her expense. If she fails to do so within the timeframe, you will then be allowed to "ask eBay to step in."
All sellers get 3 full business days for all returns/claims (even if the seller is fighting you now.)

Um, everyone missed that you already started a return request.
You have to stay silent and allow 3 business days to pass.
Today is not a business day. Tuesday to Thursday are.
Then on Friday, click Ask eBay to get down on it.

I wouldn't waste my time over this seller but then again that is a bit of drama for the seller not to pay a measly $8.

It looked to me like OP was saying she had to wait until the 23rd to leave feedback. But if she's already started the SNAD claim, so much the better.

I think that you may be right...the seller might be trs so the op has to wait to leave negative feedback.

Negative feedback has nothing to do with whether or not you want to return the item so no, ebay won't make you return it. But if you do open a return request with the reason item not as described, the seller will be required to send you a return label. If they don't, you have to wait 3 business days and then can ask ebay to step in.
Or, throw the item away and leave feedback when you can. But make sure that you don't leave something against policy so that the seller can get the feedback removed.

As others have stated---just file the not as described case. There is no need to communicate any further with this seller. Based on your feedback number, I'm surprised you aren't familiar with the money back guarantee or have never needed to use it.
This is precisely the type of response by a seller that makes buyers not give a heads up prior to feedback or filing a case for a problem. Sellers are offended when buyers don't contact them, but I completely understand. Why put yourself in this situation as a buyer? Bad sellers hurt all sellers.

OP said they emailed the seller about a return. They also mentioned that date while complaining about having to wait to leave feedback.
I see nothing in the OP that indicates a case was opened with eBay.

TRS Sellers don’t get any special feedback perks. You can leave feedback for them right after purchase. If she was a power seller, then feedback can’t be left within the first 7 days after purchase.

Hey, OP here. In the past if I've rec'd something NAD I just contacted the seller and handled it that way, never with any problems. It didn't occur to me that I should open a case since she's so adamantly denying she did anything wrong. I was just going to leave the feedback put she's a Power Seller, that's correct - so I have to wait. I'll go ahead and open a NAD case if it means she has to send me a prepaid post label. I thought I had to send it back and then trust her to refund the cost and that's why I didn't escalate it with eBay. Thanks for all of the advice! I'm blown away by how helpful your community is!
