Hi there,
So I got the email today "Cost adjustments for shipping labels" saying the following:
The US Postal Service has let us know that some of your recent shipping labels required a cost adjustment.
Reason: Service on label didn't match service used
Service on label: USPS Priority Mail Regional Rate A
Actual Service: USPS Priority Mail Regional Rate B
Well, the box I used was Regional Rate box A2 (which I have been using for years). It is obvious that the USPS employee did not know that Regional Rate box A comes in 2 different shapes: box A1 and box A2. So they mistakenly adjusted box A2 to box B and charged me the difference!
Did anyone had the same issue?

Dispute the charge with USPS, there's been a number of issues lately, including the boxes having the wrong barcode printed on them causing them to have charge adjustment.

It's not a USPS employee who assesses these charges. It's an automated system that reads labels and compares to box size/shape/type in processing facilities. No human involved.
There have been many reports of mistakes, including these with regional rate boxes.

Yes. (Raises hand).
I started an earlier thread about it. I was charged $9.83 for a RRB box when I used an RRA box. I now have two phone numbers and an email address to try and appeal this charge.

Yes, make sure you call them! They are having a glitch, and they won't refund the "stolen" money unless affected customer call in or emails about it. How many people won't care to appeal?!

We disputed the Regional B cost for Regional A shipper. My best guess at what happened is we ship in a larger dimension box than regional A when using standard ground mail. We believe the preloaded box dimensions was the cause of being overcharged. Check your preloaded shipping dimensions and see if the dimensions are larger than the Regional A dimensions.

DO NOT DISPUTE WITH USPS, file a claim in paypal against the charge. USPS never responds to disputes with claims in paypal. disputing directly with usps is like hitting your head against a brick wall. you will get nowhere.
