I sold an item that was paid for and picked up locally. How do I show the item was delivered? If I select "Buyer paid - ship now" it only gives me three choices: (1) Get Shipping Label; (2) Mark as shipped; or (3) Cancel.
If I select "Mark as shipped" it never gets to delivered and even asks for a tracking number which I don't have.

Sounds like the listing did NOT have 'local pickup' as an option. Not much choice now; print a label and put a 'thank you' card in it for the buyer??

It did have local pick-up as an option.

The following should have been done at time of pickup.
Proof of pickup is required to protect you against item not received cases.
For proof of pickup you can:
To scan the QR code:
If the buyer doesn't have the QR code available, ask them for the 6-digit code they received through email and manually enter it in the app.

Thank you for your help.
I didn’t know this so it is too late now. Should I print a shipping label then?

Why don't you just message the buyer and ask them for the 6 digit confirmation number referenced above, then enter it on the app?

Yes, I will see if I ask the buyer for the 6 digit confirmation.
Thank you for your guidance.

There is nowhere on the app to input a 6-digit number nor to scan the QR code because there is no Arrange pick up banner. I have updated the app - Ebay have my money and the buyer has collected - how to do I release the funds?

Proof of pickup
Proof of pickup is required to protect you against item not received cases.
For proof of pickup you can:
- use the eBay app to scan the QR code the buyer received through email
- use the eBay app to manually enter the 6-digit code the buyer received through email
To scan the QR code:
- Go to Selling on the eBay App.
- Go to the Sold tab.
- Select the Arrange Pickup banner.
- Tap the Scan to confirm pickup button.
If the buyer doesn't have the QR code available, ask them for the 6-digit code they received through email and manually enter it in the app.
NEVER ACCEPT ANYTHING OTHER THAN CASH FOR A PICKUP!
That does not provide you with any protection at all!
The buyer can file a complaint with their credit card, bank or payment processor which is ENTIRELY SEPARATE from eBay's empty promises of protection.
eBay can force you to add a electronic form of payment to the listing but they can't force you to use it.
You can't say cash only in the description but eBay does allow you to place a statement similar to this in the description:
Contact me for pickup payment methods prior to purchase.
In order for a valid sales contract to exist the buyer must contact you via eBay messages. You reply that you only accept cash on pickup.
You should also state nothing larger than a $20 bill as these are less likely to be forged. You should get yourself a counterfeit detecting pen and check random bills as bad $20 bills are starting to creep into the system. The local Goodwill checks $20 bills and above with such a pen.
Also make it clear that this is a pickup by appointment only - they just can't show at your door whenever they want to or make you wait around the house for hours because they are late.
