I sold an item and shipped it priority to the address provided by the buyer. It wasn't delivered on time, so I looked at the tracking. I then signed up for email updates. Here is my email:
Hello
Your package has a delivery exception. Your item was forwarded to a different address at 2:20 pm on April 23, 2021 in CHICAGO, IL. This was because of forwarding instructions or because the address or ZIP Code on the label was incorrect.
Of course this was an expensive item (for me--$130) with a new 0 FB buyer. I messaged the buyer with a copy of this email and asked if the address provided was correct. No answer.
Now what? I know it isn't delivered, but that is because the buyer provided an old address. I don't want to be out this money and the item. Any suggestions or help?

1) Relax... I think you're covered due to the forwarding instructions.
1) Be proactive... If it's really pricey, you could always intercept.
1) Be diligent... Is Chicago near the package's address? If so, look for the Delivered scan tomorrow. React as needed.

Yes, it is close (one number off on the zip code). The buyer opened the account on the day they purchased the item, so I would think the address had to be up-to-date. I will check it tomorrow for sure! I hope all goes well--I had 3 other buyers inquire about this item and wanted to buy it before the auction had ended. I wish I had taken one of them up on it now! 6 watchers, 3 inquiries, but only one bid bought it. Go figure!

Really not an issue @evry1nositswindy because if your buyer attempts an Item Not Received claim
the policy here says they're no longer covered by the eBay MBG.

If you have buyer's phone number, try to contact him. If not, I think you can ask for the return. But you should try to contact buyer first.

@thhoan-40 The proper way to contact a buyer is through eBay messages NOT through a phone call or text. Do not give out advice that is against eBay rules. There is no return--did you read it? I did contact he buyer first, through eBay messages. Do not advise if you cannot help.

Well @mtgraves7984 The package was finally delivered today, 8 days after it began its journey. I never did hear back from the buyer. Fingers crossed that they are happy about the item, not mad that it was super late. Let this be a lesson to all buyers--double check UPDATE your address when you buy something!
