Please advise if it’s okay to hold shipping for a paid item, per customers request and if so how long can It be held for?
Thank you

If you do not ship within your stated handling time, you will get a "late shipment" ding. Not good, even if buyer requests a late shipment.
I would inform buyer of eBay's shipping policy and have them to file a "hold mail" request at their post office. Or have a neighbor get the package. If you have tracking "delivered" scan by USPS you will be fine.
You can always cancel the order with buyer's request and hold the item for a later time and then relist it, letting the buyer know.
It is your responsibility to ship per your stated handling time. Good luck!

It all depends on what settings you have for your shipping policy. By looking at your listings it appears you have 3 business days. Which means if they ordered and paid today you would have to ship by Thursday. If you do not you will get dinged by Ebay for an order not shipped on time.

I once had a buyer pay for an item before asking me (via a message in eBay) to hold it for nearly a month as it was a very rare item and they were on vacation. Since I have a three day shipping limit, I immediately called eBay customer service to let them know; they could see the buyer's message and their request, and told me that they would flag the transaction and it would be okay for me to hold the item without being penalized for late shipment. If I still lost my top rated seller status, I was to dispute it. I kept my top rated seller status without any issues. I recommend being proactive and immediately notify eBay about the buyer's request.
