Hi fellow eBay-ers. I've been looking everywhere to gain more info on resolution options in re: to a package with a tracking # provided but still hasn't been received by the carrier. Item was purchased, shipping label printed & tracking # uploaded all on the same day. Purchased on Sat a.m. @4:30am, label printed approx. 2 hours later. So today is Thurs, which is the fourth day of "handling". The seller surpassed his stated 3 day handling last night @ midnight. My package has had a tracking # for SIX, days. I've also messaged seller TWICE w/no response! Does anyone know if I can CANCEL this order for a refund based on handling time "not as discribed"? Since the item is still in the sellers possession is there a way I can get a refund from eBay, as seller won't respond to me. I read in ebay rules/guidelines, etc. that handling time is the time between payment through the carrier scanning the package as "RECEIVED BY CARRIER'. It seems to me the seller has violated the terms of the sale based on the listing. eBay has said I have to mail until 7 days without any shipping update before initiating resolution. I've tried twice with Customer Service. Anyone here have any ideas of how to get this resolved with eBay now? Any info, help, or ideas would be UNBELIEVABLY APPRECIATED!
Thank you

You can ask the seller to cancel the transaction, using the reasons you've cited here.
But there is no eBay requirement that he do so.
Or you can wait til the estimated delivery date. If the item hasn't arrived by that date, you can open an item not received case the day after that. Or you can give it a little longer.

Wasting time calling eBay. Better to not get them involved as everything is automated.
Some sellers only ship once a week. Some post offices don't scan shipments on initial acceptance and you might not see a scan until later in the shipping route.
Wait until one day after the latest estimated delivery date provided by eBay when you purchased and file a Item Not Received case. That is your only decent play at this point. You really can't force anything until then. Keep an eye on the tracking.
If the item is delivered too late for your intended use, you can file a return case AFTER the item is delivered.

Monday was a postal holiday. Today is the third business day after your transaction. Sometimes there is a delay in getting or displaying the acceptance scan. No, you cannot cancel the transaction nor file a "not as described" claim based on this. There is nothing to resolve. Try to be patient.

I would not recommend doing early shipping on anything during the winter months The weather is so bad in most of the USA I doubt anything gets delivered on time this week. I think letting the buyer know about the crazy weather yesterday and today (especially) and rest of the week they will understand. I prefer to touch bases with buyers in situations like this. Doesn't matter if buyer doesn't respond. Buyer is probably more busy with other things. Your package wouldn't even go out until Tuesday...It's only been 1 and 1/2 days so far. I wouldn't worry yet.

Speaking from experience.... This has happened to us more times than I want to count. We packed an item, printed a shipping label and ran the item to the post office either the same day or the next morning... unless we stand in line and physically make sure an item is scanned, it could take "days" to get scanned and sometimes at a farther point in the route - not where we shipped it from!
We have also made purchases where we received an email that the item had shipped, with a tracking number, but when we track it, it may not be found at all or not received by the carrier for several days, then on the day that the tracking information is finally updated, (just before we are getting ready to contact the seller), the item is delivered! If the item shipped standard US Postal, give it at least 5 to 6 days, if Priority Mail - 2 days max... just have patience... and good luck

Thanks for your input. I finally had my case closed and are funded issued. After reading the guidelines I believed I fell within the option of asking eBay to cancel my order based on the seller not adhering to the handling policy which was stated as 3 days. Also, eBay help info I read said if the seller failed to provide item purchased to the shipping carrier within the 3 days I was eligible to have my order cancelled. When I contacted eBay Reps they said since I had been shipped I had to wait. The thing is they only looked and saw it said shipped on the 4th day. They failed to actually look at the itemized entry of tracking info. The whole situation was a bit bothersome. And just shy of $300 in this excruciating reality of the past 2 years of financial & moral destruction of our beautiful country is awful to experience. I was truly concerned for my empty pockets. Also I had to spend the money on the same product from another seller. It was a necessity for my son. I didn't have time to wait for the refund $ to repurchase another one. And that hurt me. $575 I was out of, at least until my eBay refund was deposited into my account. I'm hoping my account reflect the credit by tomorrow. They issued it on Saturday @8:10am.
Once again. Thank you for taking the time to share your info with me.

Also, the eBay help info I read said if the seller failed to provide item to the shipping carrier within the 3 days I was eligible for "step in" help for an eBay cancel. The help info specifically said item had to at least have a scan of acceptance. That clearly didn't happen. The details of my refund say tracking info not valid since there wasn't a received scan. When I contacted eBay they said it had been shipped I had to wait. The thing is on the 4th day when they looked it had said shipped for 4 days. They failed to look at the specific tracking info. If the tracking was not valid on 3/4/23 it wasnt valid on 2/21/23, the 4th day of "usps awaiting item". The whole situation was a bit bothersome & just shy of $300 in this excruciating reality of the past 2 years of financial & moral destruction of our beautiful country is awful to experience. If it ever happens again I know I need to ask about these specific points. Once again, thank you for taking the time to share your info with me. Have a fabulous day!
