Defective product return

Hi,

Seller says the item will be replaced but first wants me to cancel the return of one of the boxes I started.

Should I? Will eBay hold seller to these internal member eBay-sponsored email intentions? I'm of course willing even to send the defective latch box item back if need be.

No don’t close the retuns. eBay will not help you if the seller fails to send the replacement. You might be better off returning for a refund though.
