Hi- I sold an unlocked iPhone and the buyer is claiming the phone is defective and has not been unlocked. I even sent them the unlocked email. They are also claiming they went to a cell phone provider and was told the phone could not be used until it is unlocked. IT IS UNLOCKED! My biggest problem is not the return is it that I paid for expedited shipping to them, paypal fees and now have to pay for the return of a phone that I know is unlocked. I contacted an ebay rep and was told basically to just pay shipping back. This perfectly functioning phone is now costing me a lot of time and money. I have sold 2 other iPhone at the same time and not a single problem with either of them. I have send messages to buyer and they are not responding. Any suggestions what I can do?
Thanks!

Yes, they already opened a defective item case. I have been trying to communicate with the buyer about the return and they are not responding at all. I've send 4-5 messages. It has been over 3 days because i was waiting for them to reply.

If buyer has filed an INAD, accept the return and provide return shipping.
When you get something back, give a full refund.
If the phone is as described, you can report the buyer for abusing the MBG.

Thank you for your help. Am I able to leave them a bad review once I take phone to cell provider and have proof it has been unlocked?

If you wait to long and the buyer ask Ebay to step in, they could refund buyer from your Pay Pal account and not have them return the phone.

Thank you! I plan to prove it is not defective and will report them. I've had an ebay account since 2001 with 100% positive feedback and this will be the last time I sell anything on here. So disappointing.

No, a buyer can only get positive feedback or none, no matter how bad the transaction goes.

I accepted the return and sent a return label during this discussion.

all accurate and true, but how do sellers get actual justice? merely reporting a buyer has done nothing for me, and i have reported nearly a dozen by now, over 1000 transactions...

so true, similar here, ebay needs to make an even fair playing field for buyers and sellers, buyers must have burden of proof for justifying returns. every time a buyer asks me for lower price, i tell them reasons like this keep our prices high.

all true and totally unfair
