Customer said I put the wrong name and address on package

I am new to eBay(have only sold 40+ items). This is my first customer to have an issue. Bear with me as this  is an odd situation.  Customer said a package arrived with the wrong name and address, so she took it to her neighbors. Then she realized maybe it was her package after all. Her neighbors will not give her the package. She said it is because I put the wrong name and address on the box. However, I used the name and address that the eBay label had printed with the information she would have provided. I have no way of knowing if the address is correct or not, nor do I know of a way I can change what information Ebay provides me. I messaged her back with a screenshot of both the post office tracking slip and of the order details including the address I was provided. She is coming back to me saying I changed the name and address and she has never had this happen to her before. Any idea how to respond to her on this?

Agreed. I sent her a screenshot of the USPS tracking and the  Ebay label with the address she provided. Not much more I can do. Thank you for your input. It is much appreciated.

Yes. I agree. It does sound like a scam. I had another buyer try to scam me a few months ago.  I was a school teacher, so I'm pretty good at detecting shenanigans. I just wanted to make sure I was handling this with tact.  Thank you for your advice. It is much appreciated.

Tracking shows it was delivered to her mailbox.  I'm at a loss as to the logic of this. I have responded to her twice, repeating that I have no control over changing the name and address on the label Ebay sends me. I will take the advice of the commenters on this thread, and not engage in more conversation except to tell her to take it up with USPS.

Agree with all of what you said.  None of it makes sense. I will update if she comes at me again. It will be a shame if I get my first negative feedback over this nonsensical situation. Oh well...

I think she is scamming me. I gave her the facts, with screenshots of the tracking and label.  If she comes back a third time, I will not respond.  Thank you for your advice. I appreciate it very much. Have a nice weekend.

I always like to give my buyers the benefit of the doubt. I'm thinking your buyer may have enjoyed some of the cooking sherry while cooking. A package arrives that she is confused about, she finds herself handing the strange package to her neighbor. After a little nap who is there to blame? Too crazy for a scam 😐

Just to be clear and factual, USPS tracking typically shows that it was sent to a zip code not a mailbox even if it says "left in mailbox" (it could have been left at any mailbox w/in that zipcode).

Unless a postmaster was able to look it up and verbally confirm the GPS at that address.

I am guessing that the package was misplaced/stolen after delivery. When the buyer found out that eBay will not cover it (since it was delivered) she came up with this story: Buyer gave it to the neighbor, the neighbor didn't steal it and it's all the sellers fault! How? well.... crazy excuse.

Buyers can only be given POSITIVE FB from sellers.
