I have a custom sku added to all my listings. Once the item sells I cannot see the custom sku. I thought the purpose of this field was to be able to organize our inventory.
Is there a report that I can create that will show me the sku numbers?
I found this topic on an old thread that said that the fields could be customized on the "sold" page in seller hub to customize the columns, but that no longer seems to be the case.

Custom label SKU appears on the orders page next to each order.
The orders page cannot be sorted by that field.
https://www.ebay.com/sh/ord/?filter=status:ALL_ORDERS
Above the results you can search by that field, then generate pick lists.
For example, if you have numbered bins like "Bin 10" and enter that as a custom SKU, you could do a search on the orders page by custom SKU for Bin 10 to see all orders you'll be pulling from Bin 10, and you can generate a pick list for those items from your search.
You could also generate a pick list for all orders which will show you the custom SKU, but you cannot sort by that field.
There are third party shipping and inventory management programs that allow for more flexibility, depending on the size of your operation.

Thanks! After checking it out I realized that I was looking for a COLUMN that said custom label (sku). The custom sku is actually showing under the description, which is not where I was looking. I bet a lot of people make that mistake!

Actually, you can sort by SKU. In addition to the 4 "search" bars at the top of the [page, about an inch or so down and way off to the right is a drop down menu labelled "sort by". That drop down includes SKU as an option. If you click that it will re-order your sales in order by SKU in alphabetical order. So all the B-10 will be together, followed by C-10, D-10 etc. Obviously better than having them all in a jumbled order forcing you to run pillar to post.

Ah, I missed that. You are correct @richard1rst . Excellent.
Wish we could sort by category and/or by ship-by date - those would be most useful to me. That's why I never use sort. 🙂
Check it @flippingroo

With an "if" as a precursor you can. IF all of your sales have the same handling then sort by "date paid". Since shipping is a specific and consistent lag time to payment then the list will populate in chronological order by purchase time and date and, by default, "ship by" will follow the same format.
Now, if you have different handling times that won't work.

Ding ding ding.
Ship by isn't as big a deal as category though. My custom SKU does not tie to store category, and if I could sort by store category it would make the picking process faster.

Obviously I don’t know how many listings you have nor in how many categories.
But SKU can be ANY information you want it to be. For example, in mine, the first 1-3 letters of an alphanumeric number is an abbreviation for my supplier’s name, followed by the supplier’s catalog number. (then I follow that with the month and year I listed it - i.e.5/24 so I know when it is getting old.) So if I am getting ready to place an order I sort by SKU and it shows me what I am low on from that specific supplier. Then when I go to my orders I sort 90 days of sales by SKU and get the suppliers in order and I can see what I am sold out of from that supplier. (Because the sold quantity also tells you how many you have left, or nothing if there are no more left) It helps tremendously in re-orders. The info I need is right in front of me instead of having to go count boxes.
In that same concept - why not just make the first couple/few characters a shorthand reference to your store categories. Then when you sort by SKU they will populate in category order.

No room. Custom SKU is limited by characters and I don't have room to add a prefix on most.

Well I obviously don't know how much you have in your SKU field, but according to my screen SKU can be up to 50 characters. You can't add 3 more to what you already have? i.e. make one category reference 01, make the next 02, etc. Does not need to be elaborate. Then it will sort as required. You did say it was important.

No, I can't. What's already in there is more important and I can't abbreviate/shorten any more than I already have. Trust me, I've been 'round the block on it a few times. I do appreciate the tips. Was just "wishful thinking" posting earlier. I already know I cannot force the system to work the way I want it to in that area. Custom SKU is long, in part, because I'm making up for an eBay report failure (transaction reports do not pull in variation info).

OK. I was just trying to repay some of the help you have given me, and others, over time. I'll go away now.

Like I said earlier @richard1rst , I do appreciate the tips! I meant it when I said that. 👍
