Combined shipping does not work anymore

I am buying diecast car models from the US and have them shipped to Europe and for the past few months, it's impossible to use combined shipping for anything. A model costs roughly $10, shipping goes between $20-25 per model and the only option I get when I buy several models is to have each one shipped separately, for which I pay more than double the price of the model in shipping!

No matter which seller I try, I get "You can't request combined shipping for items where eBay manages all or part of the shipping.", or "You can't request combined shipping for items that require immediate payment.". I've been buying for years and it has never been so broken! I will have to stop using eBay entirely and start contacting directly the sellers because of this.

Not the mention the eBay shipping used to take about 2 weeks from the States to Europe and now takes nearly 2 months. Items I ordered simultaneously from one seller arrive days apart as well. Buying from China is much cheaper and everything arrives in 5-6 days, so it's a shame a big company like eBay is breaking things that didn't need fixing in the first place...

Have you tried contacting the seller via the item and asking if they would make 1 listing for the items you want? 

EIS shipments go to a hub where they are processed and shipped out of the US.

Some sellers without EIS will not ship to any foreign country.

eBay didnt break this, it is a program that without EIS many would not ever ship to Europe.

eBay has helped their bottom line by having more sales to other countries because this takes all the negative issues of foreign shipments off the selelrs.

Just because you dont understand or like something doesnt mean it is broken. Could it be better, Yes.

That's the point - I don't need to go through eBay for getting through to the seller directly. Any lost or damaged items or incorrect sellers are worth much less than the extra shipping I am paying.

And as far as understanding goes - I've been condescending to my clients and it made me find out the hard way nobody owes me anything. Bottom line is - for me as a client it was affordable and convenient before, and now it's more expensive, slower and more complicated, so I don't really see the value in it on my side.

Not being condescending. Just pointing out the way the EIS system works today.

IF you contact the seller who has multiple items you want to buy and they make 1 listing for those items, then its not multiple shipping costs. If the seller chooses not to do this then the seller loses your business.

Also another "value" for you the buyer is a large pool of sellers who will ship to you.

Many US sellers, until this program came out, refused to ship to any foreign country.

I thought I read previously the ebay internationl program does not allow combined shipping...

You must have missed the announcement December 2023, yes eIS does combine multiple items into one payment. But I believe it depends on the categories or item weight.

Sellers have to have their settings set right to allow for combined/discounted shipping. If they do buyers can then add all the items they want to the shopping cart to get the correct domestic combined shipping to the EIS hub and then eBay will be able to quote a correct international shipping cost to the buyer.

The only problem is that all items have to be paid for on 1 invoice for it to work. You can't make separate order payments and then combine the orders after individual payment has been made.
