How interesting, I shipped an item UPS using ebay shipping and was charged an additional $5.25 for an address correction- specifics are "We've corrected the apartment number, and the package is on its way to the updated address." when looking into this the address should have had "Rear" after the street address , I contacted Ebay in chat since I have no control over how the address is printed on the label- Can you believe they suggest I contact the buyer and issue a paypal invoice to them to reimburse me?????
Thoughts?

My thoughts are:
1. That stinks
2. That certainly is not your fault
3. That certainly was the wrong advice given by a phone rep that can/will not be held accountable for the suggestion
My advice would be to absorb the cost if at all humanly possible. Going "back for seconds" with a client is always a bad look even though you are blameless in this.
Sadly, we have no control over shipping addresses on Ebay.
In my previous stint as full-time seller on ebay 10 years ago or so, things routed through PayPal and ALL addresses were "verified" meaning you had zero liability as long as you did not deviate from shipping to the verified address.
Now that Ebay supports their own payment platform there is no such assurance with any shipping address.
Hopefully, in time, that will be improved upon.
Best of luck with shop & sales.

I've heard of them doing that and not much you can do about it.
At least the buyer will receive the item and you don't have to worry about it being returned because of the address.

I thought eBay refunded for this type of adjustments.
I'd try asking on eBays Facebook.

I can believe it, but it's not acceptable. Can you have this CS chat reviewed for coaching kyle@ebay ?
What you can do @red-baron64 is send a DM to one of eBay's social CS teams: ebay on facebook, ebayforsellers on insta, askebay on X
It's not possible to dispute UPS/FedEx cost adjustments under $10, however eBay generally credits address correction fees when asked since it's eBay's system that's not properly verifying addresses before you purchase the label.

Hey @wastingtime101 we can certainly look into this and provide proper coaching.

You wasted the Ebay customer service rep's time and he decided to tell you how to waste yours.

How did they waste the CS agents time?
The CS agent should have issued them a credit.
eBay requires sellers to ship to the address on the order. eBay gave the seller a bad address because eBay doesn't use address validation.
The CS agent should have taken care of it and not giving them a **bleep** answer.
