Re: Changes to USPS Click-N-Ship.

To sum it up, USPS is retiring the "legacy" version and converting all accounts to the "enhanced" version. I'd be surprised if many people are still using the legacy version since it does not include access to commercial rates.

With the switch to version 2 you'll have access to discounted commercial rates, improved batch shipping and label import. Navigation may be a bit different.

Once switched you'll have access to one year worth of legacy transactions.

What should I expect once Legacy CNS (Click-N-Ship) is discontinued?

  • Both Business and Personal Legacy CNS customers will be redirected to CNSv2 (Click-N-Ship version 2 Enhanced) and access to Legacy CNS will no longer be available.
  • Redirected customers will have access to the same contacts within the CNSv2 address book as they did on CNS Legacy.
  • All CNSv2 customers will have access to 1 year of their Legacy CNS transactions within the CNSv2 Shipping History.
  • Customers will be able to perform all the same Legacy CNS actions such as “Refunds”, “Printing” and “Shipping Again”.
  • Unpaid postage dues will be transferred from customer’s Legacy CNS accounts to their CNSv2 accounts.

Re: Changes to USPS Click-N-Ship.

Just FYI, the Original is still out there, but the two don't talk to each other.  You have to import (now, you didn't as of earlier this year) your address book into the new version manually.  Annoying, but whatever.

Fair warning:

Worse, and worse by a LOT - the site glitched on me the other night and as far as I knew payment for a personal label didn't go through. (box to my cousin ) I printed and used a second label... and got charged for both of them.  The website hung and then never showed a paid  unprinted label waiting, even though it should have.  Getting a refund for the one that never generated a bar code should have been easy, but I had to call their 800 technical support line to figure out how to do it.

To void an unused lable in the new system, you have to click Click-n-Ship NEW version  and then go to shipping history instead of printing a label.  The proper way is to log in to your account and then go to History.   I'd feel dumb, except that even Googling the answer and going in from the outside didn't work.  The lady on the other end said they get this call fairly often.   When the new system works, it works fine, but when it glitches...(her words)
