I have just sort of been stockpiling oversize Magic cards and sports box toppers when they show up in collections figuring I would eventually get around to figuring out what to do with them.
How are you packaging these? Standard envelope? First class package?

Those cards are 3.5 x 5", well within the ESE size requirements. I would use ESE unless the value warranted FC.

Staples sells bigger size envelopes which I use with the size 5 3/4 by 8 3/4.
That is the size the post office will accept without doing parcel as long as the envelope is not thick.
Its like .20 cents more than the standard .58 cents.
Also, the US post office sells cheap bubble wrap inside of envelopes tax free! I fine these great for shipping jewelry.

I was more figuring out if they can actually go standard envelope without getting destroyed or returned to sender insufficient postage.

Scores of postcard dealers mail cards 3 1/2" x 5 1/2" using the standard envelope option. Works for them with most cards under $20.

You might get some tips from @somanypcs? I believe they ship postcards with ESE.

My usual method just won't work with these. I normally put 4-5 cards thick in a gaming sleeve and use double sided tape to fix the sleeve off center inside the envelope.
However I can't get that size card in bulk, and the sleeves for them are pricey as well.
