why does it takes so long to receive a part. I ordered last week and they said Nov 3 is delivery day.

Where is your part coming from? If it's coming from China, that delivery estimate may be a bit overly optimistic.

I am in the automotive industry and parts coming from overseas are running 6 months to 1+year out at the moment. Its crazy.

When you made your purchase, you saw the estimated delivery date of Nov. 3.
If that was too long for you, then you could have simply hit the back arrow and searched for a part with a closer delivery date.
When you made your purchase, you signified, in effect, that you were willing to wait that long.

The expected delivery date is in the listing, to see before you buy.
I would only order parts with a long delivery time for a PROJECT car that I could be working on something else on the car while I waited.
A couple of weeks ago I ordered a fuel pump from AutoZone for my van and it was delivered the next day. Then my truck broke down so I ordered a timing set and head set and bolts from Partsology for my truck. It would've been delivered the next day but I got the order in after 3 pm so I got it the day after.
It's just my luck to have both my vehicles break down the same week!
You could order it from somewhere else and get it right away and then resell the part that's taking so long to get delivered.

Could be on a slow boat from China. I have had delivery dates that far out and the items came long before that.
However, keep track of it. One day past if it's not arrived you have to file an item not received case. That is a little more tricky as it often aged out of the system. You have to click the help and contact link at the lower right of this page and speak to an eBay rep to file the case.
