HI: all just wanted to post that the Canadian Mail service is on strike . So there are going to be long delivery issues for mail and packages .because they lock all mail in secured warehouse's during the strike . This standard practice when their employees go on strike . I have seen this happen over the years shipping to Canada . UPS ,DHL and FedEx aren't affected by the Canada Postal strike . So it will be based on how bad the buyers want the items and will pay to use those carriers .

US sellers that sell internationally through eIS are protected by eBay as their only commitment is to ensure the package arrives at eBay's shipping hub. eIS is responsible for delivery to the Canadian address.
I have sold internationally on eBay but elected not to be involved with EIS, I have shipped internationally since the early 80's long before eBay or any other internet sales venue was even a dream ... the advice given is good and would send a clear message to the Canadian Postal Mail service, a very clear message ... there is power and strength in a concerted effort like that.

Yes, it would send a clear message to the CPM service ... not everyone can see the value in doing that regardless of how eBay Sellers ship internationally.

If those sellers switched to ship FedEx , UPS or DHL ground shipping to Canada ,That would send message to CPM service.

As long as CPM doesn't work with those carriers like the USPS does here it might work too ...

I agree with you on that also.

eBay usually doesn't use Canada Post for the International Shipping Program. They use smaller couriers like one called Apple Express.
Canada is a very spread out country geographically. So the only reason that a customer might see a delay with the ISP is if they live in a rural area that is only reasonably served by Canada Post. I believe eBay has already said that US sellers are off the hook with any delays related to the ISP program. Once it reaches the eBay warehouse, the sale is done.
Shipping to Canada should only be an issue for sellers who don't use the International Shipping Program. That means you're stuck using UPS, Fedex, DHL, etc. Canadians absolutely hate when people they usually hit Canadians with massive brokerage fees.

Canadians will actively avoid US sellers who use those shipping companies, unless the sellers successfully market the ability to cover or prevent brokerage fees.
USPS through Canada Post means no brokerage fees 99 percent of the time. The one time it happens, it is a reasonable $9.95 fee.
Every Canadian has their story about a seller advertising that they use USPS, but instead sending with UPS, and the $50 package has $25+ in fees (not taxes).
The ISP does charge brokerage fees, but the dynamic is different because it is upfront. The main point is that the optics of a Canadian seeing that you use UPS or Fedex are very bad and likely to lead to them avoiding your listings unless you can somehow convince them in the 2 seconds they take to scroll past your listing that they won't get hit with a $25-$50 brokerage fee at the door.

Just an update with info.
I'm Canadian buyer (ebay .ca) I have 7 items I'm waiting for from the USA all shipped with Ebay International shipping. The one item (advent calendar) was bought Oct31 with estimated delivery by latest Nov 27th. (still not arrived) The other items earlier November. They all made it to the Hub Glendale IL, and shipped on to me including the one bought about a week ago. The tracking last saying for them now in transit to destination country. Being they were all still in the USA when Canada Post went on strike, I assumed Ebay would use another shipper like Intelcom (now dragonfly) as they have done before. Tonight the tracking says package delayed due to postal disruption. So when I click on the tracking numbers to the websites (Dhl E Commerce, and Ascendia) The Ascendia is getting sent to Canada Post with CP tracking number (cp tracking says waiting for item) and the Dhl ones say package will be delivered when Canada Post resumes operations. So doesn't look like there getting sent to other delivery carriers. So not sure where they will sit. None of the items got sent back to the sellers and still went to the Hub. but that was before the USPS announcement.

One of my items (smaller bubble pack type) finally says arrived to Canada and cleared customs. It came through a different port in Ontario. Hopefully the other items will say arrived to Canada soon too. I'm going to wait buying anything with EIS until the strike is over.

Any idea what to do about a seller that sent a $100 US item from Canada a few days before the strike but did not use tracking. So there is no way to see where my package is. Obviously, if I want the item, I'll just have to wait for it but what are my protections as a buyer? Does the window to file a claim get extended also?

Added context. I live in the US, seller in Canada.

If your package managed to make it out of Canada before the strike it, might still be ok but just delayed. Otherwise package will start moving again once the strike is over. It's a wait it out for lots of people.

Both FedEx and UPS where sued over the Brokerage fee's .

The Canadian Postal worker strike will be settled next week (week of Dec. 9). Then miraculously ALL packages will be delivered on time for the Holidays ...

AGREE! Will eBay hold the packages until resolved or should we delay mailing???
