First off, the Canadian forum sucks. .com forum is the best.
Anyway I mailed out a parcel last week to find out today Canada Post is refusing to ship to 60+ countries.
& The Parcell I mailed out Canada Post is now holding on to as they refuse to ship it. Guy lives in Portugal, I contacted him to let him know, asked him what he would like to do. But have no idea what I should do. Canada Post has been paid, eBay, PayPal have been payed, I have been payed. But this guy is not going to get his parcel! Anyone else experiencing these issues? Any guidance? Should I just refund the buyer, ask eBay for my refund, ask PayPal for my refund & ask Canada Post for a refund?
No idea what I should do never had an issue like this.
Thanks

Most international mail is transported in the cargo hold of passenger flights. With so many airlines shutting down or restricting international flights, disruptions in international mail have to be expected.
Canada has closed its borders to all travellers who are not Canadian citizens or permanent residents, or US Citizens. I believe all but 4 airports are now closed to international flights, and those are probably restricted to flights from the US, and possibly rescue flights bringing Canadians back.
I would stop offering international shipping except possibly to the USA. It is unlikely that mail between the USA and Canada will be interrupted.
For this package, if your buyer is willing to wait, you can wait, but if they open a case for a refund, you should make the refund. Try to find a way to recall your package on the Canada Post website, and get it returned to you. If you can get it recalled, and when it's on the way back to you, then cancel the transaction and refund.

They’re refusing the packages because THOSE countries’ postal services are not allowing packages in.

Have you reached out to your buyer? There are going to be some repercussions of sending the package late. Probably the best for you is to refund your buyer, void the label, and apply for a credit for the postage. If he leaves neg. feedback , you can possibly have cust. serv. remove it since this is an unusual situation. You need update all your listings that have international shipping and block those 60+ countries.

I have contacted the buyer, he said he still would like the Parcell still. So I will let Canada Post hang on to it, till they are able to mail. Yes I know the risk. I can afford to take it. Appreciate all the help, suggestions & guidance everyone has given. Keep safe!

Can you quote the source of your information? There is no information by USPS saying that there are 60 countries who do not accept mail from abroad.
Is there a list of these 60 countries?

This is a USPS service alert from march 29. Not a single mention about any country rejecting incoming foreign mail:
The CDC (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/faq.html), the World Health Organization (https://www.who.int/news-room/q-a-detail/q-a-coronaviruses), and the Surgeon General have indicated that there is currently no evidence that COVID-19 is being spread through the mail.
The Postal Service has so far experienced only minor operational impacts in the United States as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. We do continue to have a temporary suspension of the guarantee on Priority Mail Express International destined for China and Hong Kong, which has been effective since Monday, Feb. 10, 2020, due to widespread airline cancellations and restrictions into this area. In addition, customers may see delays in mail and packages destined to China as well as from China, as well as to and from European countries subject to restricted passenger airline travel. The Postal Service is undertaking all reasonable measures to minimize the impact to our customers.
Understand the issue is Canadian post, but if they are not rejecting US mail, why would they reject Canadian mail?

It's a really long list so I won't post it but if you click on the link and then on International - See Details, it will show the list. They aren't really being specific as to why they aren't accepting mail for those places. It's odd that Italy, China and Hong Kong are on separate lists mentioning that there are delays but they are still accepting shipments.

There was a post earlier from a seller who lists worldwide without any exclusions but it looks as if ebay has added countries to the exclusion list but I'm not sure why. I've noticed those exact same exclusions on other sellers listings too. I can't find that post right now but I will look later.
