Hi everyone!
I just listed and sold my first item today. The problem is that eBay hasn't had time to verify my PayPal account, so I can't find a way to purchase the shipping label. Is there a way to purchase a shipping label (carrier is USPS) without using PayPal?? Thanks for the help!

Yes, go to the post office and make sure that you include tracking.

Open a free account on pirateship.com. It will be cheaper than the Post office.

Keep in mind that eBay is charging you a 10% FVF on that shipping regardless of whether you get the label.
If you are printing labels for non eBay purposes then use Pirateship always. This has the added benefit of keeping PayPal from obtaining the names of anyone you ship to for non eBay purposes.

I think FVF on shipping is charged when you uploaded tracking or marked shipped.
is it not?
No, it is not.
The final value fee is based on what the buyer pays, and is charged to your eBay invoice when the buyer's payment is received. It is not connected to where or when you purchase your postage or how much you pay for it.

Have you checked with PayPal to find out what is going on with your PayPal account? Don't recall any delay in using my PayPal debit card when I first signed up with eBay in 2008 but I had our PP account linked to a checking account. It seems you have been an eBay buyer since 2004 and have bought over 300 items - am assuming with your PayPal account - should be smooth selling by now.
Go your PO buy a label, enter the tracking #, ship you item within your stated handling time. Yea you will pay more than buying thru eBay but your job #1 right now is to take care of you customer first & avoid a late shipment "hickey" on your account. Once you do that then research if you want to buy shipping labels thru a third party. IMHO buying thru eBay is much more convenient - tracking numbers are auto loaded to your sales file, all financial activity on a transaction can be found thru one account i.e. PayPal (I like things simple - hate having to remember those "i" before "e" things). Plusyou will get the cost savings benefit of receiving the commercial rate (and commercial rate plus if you achieve TRS status down the road) as well as economical first class package shipping for weights up to 15.9 ounces. Just remember other parties don't do anything for nothing.
