Can’t print standard 4x6 shipping labels from the App

So you have a label printer, and it features wireless printing. Unfortunately I cannot receive a shipping label that is 4x6 from eBay meaning I cannot print to my label printer. Instead I get a letter size 8.5x11 pdf. Which is for printing on a standard personal printer. Meanwhile if you have an actual label printer you are stuck unless you use your computer to purchase shipping label. Please fix this, it is not fair to the sellers that are on the go using the mobile app to ship items

Others seems to be printing the 4x6 just fine from the App.  So as mentioned, with few complaints on the boards this looks more like some strange problem with your account.  You need to contact ebay.  Either call or I suggest you send a private message to one of the media reps below.

I asked my brother, about his account and a couple of other friends that I know that use Ebay and they all tell me that they have the same issue. Well some of them have the "letter size" issue from their printer. While the others have the same Label printing issue from the phone since they have the same setup as I have with a label printer.

Yes, others did report problems when theirs no problem 4x6 or 2x7 labels suddenly reverted to the half sheet back in March and then some in June.  Others don't seem to have the problem.  I'll let you know if I find anything else out, and please update us here if you talk to ebay or yours starts working again.

Did anyone find a fix for this?  Having same problem.  Sometime a few months back the problem started.  It outputs a full page sheet when using the app on iOS.

It is Jan 2022 and this problem stills exists from a computer and I have found no solution anywhere within eBay to change this to 4x6 printing. eBay should have the 4x6 set as a default not 8.5x11

@skydronesusa  There is no problem printing from a PC (desktop computer), the problem only appears using the Mobile App.

Did you recheck the label format is still set to the 4x6 label on the create label page?

Note that labels for ebay's Standard Label for trading cards, etc., is currently only for half sheet, but can be shrunk to fit the 4x6 format.

Thanks, I did get it figured out for the computer. Why design engineers don't use real world logic, but think it is necessary to bury important things in sub menus deeper and deeper.

Glad you got it working.  Afraid many ebay programmers either don't use ebay or are inexperienced junior coders so just don't understand what the user needs.

Yep same thing happened to me today. Yesterday I posted my first thing with anticipation of putting my store on ebay. Well this morning an offer which I accepted. So excited my first ebay sale. Then I tried to print the label which would not work no matter what I did. I called them and they told me I had to cancel that label and try a new one. After I cancelled they sent me email stating they were going to charge my bank for the label I was never able to print. I spent 3 hours on chat & phone with them, they guaranteed me it would not come out of my bank. I then called and asked for manager who told me it would come out of my account and I may wait 3 weeks to be reimbursed. 

I am totally done with ebay. A large company like this has no excuse as to why you should not be able to print a label. And I should never be charged for something that was never printed

I had the same issue on initial setup. 

Solution that worked for me (Apple OS - wireless network):

1.  Receive new order

2.  Login to desktop version of ebay

3.  Act like you are going to purchase the label using ebay desktop version but only change the label size to 4X6 (don't purchase the label)

4. Reload/refresh (not just open the app) the ebay app on your iphone and it should show 4x6 as your default

5. Purchase label on mobile app and print

4. Complete label purchase and print

Yes, you must set the label format from a browser, then it should stick for use with the App.

In case it helps anyone else, here's my situation. I had a Brother QL-1100 (non wireless) printer and had previously set 4x6 as my label size on the desktop site for use with that printer. That was working without issue for printing labels from my PC, but I wanted to be able to print labels wirelessly from my phone too.

So today I replaced it with the wireless version (QL-1110NWB) and the first time I bought a label from the eBay mobile app it correctly showed 4x6 as the label size, but after the purchase was complete and I clicked the button to print the label, it downloaded an 8x10 pdf.

So I went to my PC, cancelled that label, and followed the steps alfen6508 listed when purchasing a new label, and that all worked.

I am having the exact problem as you except that it's doing it on my PC I don't do my labels mobile,  it's been like that for a month, the first letters in my address are all cut off, so I have to use Firefox browser to print my labels and it's working fine on there.
