Can't leave negative feedback for buyers & return policy in favor of buyers - FED UP!

I am fed up with Ebay's policy on feedback and return policies.  You can't leave negative feedback for a buyer.  I recently sold an item to someone and they requested to return it because they claimed they did not receive the correct item.  The item shipped to them was indeed what they ordered.  When I ask the buyer for more detail, they did not repsond.  I escalated the case through Ebay but a week has passed and no response.  So ebay sides with the buyer and allows them to return the item at my expense.  So not only did I loose out on a sale, this customer's stupidity cost me money.  And, I can't even leave negative feedback so this buyer won't shaft someone again for a return shipping label cost.  Don't get me wrong, it's not really the money, its the principal of the thing.  It is not a level playing field for the buyer.  How are we supposed to weed out the good buyers from the bad if a seller can't leave negative feedback.  Some buyers use negative feedback as an extortion tool.  I have been selling on Ebay for 10 years now and I am beginning to feel like a redheaded step-child.  Looking for other selling options as many other sellers are doing.  I hope Ebay admin reads this.  The bottom line is there will always be Ebay sellers and Ebay wants those buyers to keep coming so they can make money for their stockholders, no matter the cost to the sellers.  You know the old addage, "The customer is always right".

I understand your frustration, but eBay has correctly decided that negative feedback for consumers makes everybody (buyer, seller, other sellers, and eBay itself) look bad - which is why pretty much no retail site attempts to do so.

You may wish to brush up on the eBay money back guarantee as your return policy violates it. Which makes your return policy unenforceable. Perhaps that is why eBay sided with the buyer?

eBay sided with the buyer because they said they received the wrong item. eBay does not require the buyer to prove anything. You should have just accepted the return. Even if eBay can see the buyer has remorse, you still have to take the return and pay for return shipping. And then appeal it and get the return shipping refunded.

You have a return policy, that means you accept returns for any and all reasons.

You weed out the good buyers from the bad by reporting a bad buyer.

Also by opening and closing UPI disputes.

I guess you realize that on June 1st ebay will eliminate the improper terms of your "return policy".    Did you receive an unresolved by seller case for escalating your return?  

 

It seems your focus on feedback is misplaced and may be blinding you to some of the more important aspects to selling due to current rules.

You are In Correct  On OP's Return Policy  !! It isn't a Liberal returns no question ask for any reason!   Any seller  has the right to setup limited return policy's .

Nope. If you take returns you take them for any reason. eBay says so.
