Can anyone explain UPS range?

Vs parcel select?

For example using ebay calculated shipping (rough numbers on a medium package) parcel select may quote me $18-$34 across country where as UPS ground quotes $15-$160.  But I'll plug in a random zip code in pirate ship, across the country and UPS will come in cheaper.  Why is the range so wide on ebay?

In the eBay shipping calculator, are you choosing to look at the retail ("in store") or online ("eBay") rate?

Honestly I'm not sure what you're referring to. I don't see an option to change when I'm listing.

@nobody*s_perfect I'm just trying to bump this so I can find a solution.

I'm new and trying to find that sweet spot on Parcel Select vs UPS ground but the range that eBay shows UPS ground is kinda crazy.

This image isn't the best example because obviously USPS will be cheaper.  But just showing you what I'm seeing from UPS.

Unless the package is so large that the extra fees kick in, USPS will be cheaper every time. Parcel select or priority may be cheaper depending on the origination and destination zip codes.

What are your package weight and dimensions? And what is a "sweet spot" that you're looking for?

I don't have much insight into this, because I just always ship via USPS, either First Class or Priority.

Also @varebelrose

Seems like after 8 lbs and a certain size UPS starts getting cheaper than parcel select.  The problem is the range eBay shows me for ups ground.  I don't temember the exact size bilut i.e. I plugged in a package into pirate ship from WA state to Pittsbirg PA.    Parcel Select was $30.  UPS ground was $26 but according to eBay UPS calculated ground was like 18-150.  Makes it real difficult to pick a service unless I go to pirate ship and check every item I post.  So I guess the "sweet spot" I'm looking for is when UPS becomes cheaper.  Or is $150 for ups crazy?  And customers will never see that?
