Can I send a package FedEx Smartpost that has Priority Mail tape on it?

I know Smartpost ultimatly lands into USPS so I don't want to cause a problem. I'm reusing a brown box that was sealed with PM tape. Anyone know if that is going to be a problem? I already taped the package shut with clear tape over the PM tape thinking I'll ship PM, but just checked FedEx SP and it is half the cost.

For that situation I would recomend everybody have at least one roll of brown paking tape. Don't use duct tape or masking tape.

Wouldn't it be easier and less expensive to simply remove the Priority Mail tape?
