Can I sell items without a tracking number on ebay?

Hey there! I was wondering if I can sell & ship items without giving ebay a tracking number? I was just wondering since I was thinking of starting selling items on ebay.

So even if the buyer receives the low cost item you ship without tracking, $5-$10-$20; they leave you positive feedback, why does ebay cause that to count against the top rated seller system??

Because tracking is one of the requirements for TRS status.
