I switched to calculated for FC packages due to the new zones. A few have come in WAY off, one that was 15 ounces wanted to charge over $9 for FC. I changed it on the invoice. Just now I have one that got charged $7.85 for a 14 ounce package. I am NOT adding a handling charge. Am I missing something?

The eBay shipping calculator defaults to show the retail prices. You can change this in your Site preferences under "carrier discounts".
There is no retail price for a First Class package over 13 ounces, so the calculator in the listing shifts to show the retail price for Priority Mail, just as the clerk would do if you were purchasing postage at the PO counter for a package over 13 ounces.
The shipping calculator has always done this, but before the latest price change, it charged a flat rate of $6.70 for all weights above 13 ounces (regardless of buyer's location) so it has become much more noticeable since it started showing the zoned price for Priority which go up to $9.30 for Zone 8.
If you don't want to change your Site preferences and switch all of your calculated postage to the online rates, you can set up a flat price for First Class packages of 14-15.999 ounces.

OP here is my quick cheat on this situation: When you use calculated shipping, the tipping point for first class in terms of a huge price increase to the buyer is above 13 ounces. 14 ounces and up is when they will start seeing PM rates for FC. So, if I want the buyer to receive first class rates I just input 13 ounces or under even if it weighs over that. I personally wouldn't change my site preferences for this - JMO.

Good advice. Just to add a little bit to this, under the new USPS pricing structure, the cost for a 13 ounce package is the same as the cost for a 14, 15 or 15.999 ounce package.

Ebay however allows you to send things first class up to 16 ounces. Use Ebay shipping and use calculated shipping. ....
The OP DID use calculated shipping. But it doesn't work correctly if the shipping calculator is showing retail prices.

Thanks, that makes sense. I will use 13 ounces FC for calculated for packages in the 13-15 oz range. Another problem I have is that there is no option in the listing for Regional Rate packages, although it is an option when you buy shipping. So I give two options, PM Medium FRB and PM 2 lbs. Buyers keep picking the FRB even when it costs more.

Thanks for this thread. I have several early books that qualify but didn’t weigh just put in 15 oz since I knew they are lighter. Shocked, I decided not to list as I wanted free shipping. Guess I’ll have to work today after all.
