OK, so I saw an item in England I just had to have. The title was something like "stamp album with some stamps". I can't resist buying something that's not well described for the enjoyment of checking it out when it arrives. (But the sellers show a sample, so I have an idea of what to expect).
Item was shipped from England with GSP to my PO Box, but when the GSP got it, they flipped it over to DHL. That made my delivery time go from 4+ weeks to 2 days. Here's the problem... it's addressed to a PO Box.
I called DHL, they can't change the delivery address on eBay shipments because it voids the seller's protection with delivery to the address on the package. Someone at GSP didn't pay attention to the fact it's a PO Box, and DHL wasn't quick on the uptake when they received the package.
So what DHL did do, is send it to a delivery office in my city where I could go with tracking info and government issued ID to pick it up. DHL gave extended hours for this place, but they cut back due to coronavirus and I walked in the shop 10 minutes after they closed for the day. (The manager was there, he forgot to lock the door, but he was very nice and gave me my package with their hours for future pick ups).
I got the package home... it's wonderful. It's containing stuff I haven't yet seen (and I've looked at a lot of stamps in the past six months as I've been dealing them on eBay). Anyway I had to work to get my package, but it was well worth it when I got home to examine it.

Good to hear a happy GSP story for a change and send the clerk at DHL a box of chocolates for service above and beyond!
DHL ... can't change the delivery address on eBay shipments because it voids the seller's protection with delivery to the address on the package.
The seller should not lose protection since her responsibility for delivery ended at the GSP plant door.
At a guess the loss of protection would be for DHL as the subcontractor and responsible for delivery to GSP.

What I do know, is that the recipient can change the delivery address, but the clerk on the phone told me the sender disabled the ability to do that for security reasons. So maybe the GSP doesn't want to lose their protection on rerouted mail. In any event, I don't get how they missed the PO Box when they shipped it over... I'm just glad I caught that (notification in email about it being shipped) to be able to call and do something about it.

Interesting ... I'm not questioning you, just commenting that DHL must operate differently in Canada than in the USA.
I got a package recently that was delivered by DHL, from China. DHL brought it to my local area, then handed it over to the Post Office for final delivery, which I think took less than 24 hours. It was the fastest delivery I have received since the pandemic started, even though it came from China. My USPS and FedEx deliveries have typically been delayed by 1-2 weeks once they reach my local area.
I bought it from a website, didn't know where it was going to be shipped from. Very nice item, too. But, this thread is about DHL (or maybe stamps) so that's enough of that.

When I spoke to the DHL agent on the phone, I was told they would try to deliver at my address, but when I pointed out it's a PO Box, that's when we got into sending it to a center to be picked up.
I don't mind having to go to DHL to get my package, as I have to drive 5 miles to get to my PO Box anyway. Seeing as though I have two hours for lunch every day (that's what I get for working from 7am to 5pm), I've got time to run around.
