So,
I sold a camera lens on the 20th of July and here we are on the 16th August and the buyer wants refund. They buyer is unhappy because the Lens is a MF lens and not a AF however this is clearly stated in the posting and even made mention as to it being the reason I sold it. I marked no refunds accepted but would have honored a refund had this been a around the time of purchase but here we are nearly a month later for a sensitive piece of equipment. Now Ebay has a sizable hold on my paypal for something that is clearly on the buyer? What to do?

Under what reason did they open the return case?

First of all, be sure to reply to the request in the Resolution Center with YOUR statement, professionally put: The listing clearly stated the lens is a MF, not a AF. You apparently misread the description, but that isn't any fault of mine.
And decline to refund.
You need to respond to anything negative the buyer says and fight with your side of the facts. The worse that can happen is the buyer is allowed to return the lens and you can inspect it for damages prior to approving a refund. Or so I hear. Good luck!

Maybe he doesn't take pictures everyday or the lens was for a special occasion and he didn't get to use it for a few weeks. You may not take returns and refund but eBay does. You have no choice. Send a shipping label to get the item back or risk having eBay refund and you're out the money and the buyer keeps the item.
