Buyer opens Item not received...shows delivered.

Buyer opens INR two days after shipping deadline. He received it within two days of buying according to delivery info. Purchased on the March 15th, delivered 17th, and INR 19th. He is local to my area. I noticed he has made comments about refunds sellers have given him for items not received. I sent him tracking info showing delivered and I asked him to verify his mailing address as I see there may have been shipping problems in the past. It's been 11 days since this opened and he hasn't responded to the tracking info or messages. What do I do? Ask eBay to step in or wait it out? There isn't a funds hold as eBay released it same day with tracking info.

If you confirmed the tracking within the INR, and tracking confirms delivery to his zip, then go ahead and ask eBay to step in. Choose the reason you shipped with tracking and in comments say you shipped to the address on the order details and tracking confirms delivery. eBay will close the claim in your favor.

You MUST respond to the INR with the tracking number. Just "sending him the tracking number" isn't going to win the case for you.

Copy and paste the tracking number into the case and in the notes section, you can state that "USPS tracking number (fill in blank) was delivered on (date) at (time)."

You can either wait for the case to close automatically in your favor or you can ask ebay to step in.

Because the INR was opened after tracking confirmed delivery, eBay will not automatically close the case in the seller's favor.

The automatic process is triggered when the INR is opened before there is a delivery scan, and the delivery scan occurs while the INR is open. The delivery scan triggers the automatic closure in seller's favor (within 24 hours).

When the INR is opened after there is a delivery scan the seller can:

- ask eBay to step in to get it closed in their favor

- wait to see if buyer asks eBay to step in which will close in seller's favor

- wait for the claim to time out due to inactivity (after about a month) and when that happens it closes as "no fault" - it does not close in the seller's favor.

Better to ask eBay to step in. Then it closes in seller's favor and things like feedback protection kick in.
