HI, I sold a hair dryer diffuser for $5.25 including shipping. Auction states no returns. After fees and shipping I made only $1.31 profit. Buyer opened return request stating "I did not realize does not fit my dryer" with 2 photos of it "not fitting" the dryer! I had photos in auction with measuring tape laying next to item. I never stated which dryer it would fit or not fit.
If I ok the return, ebay says the buyer pays the return shipping. But I will be out the $2.66 I paid to ship it to the buyer. Im assuming my fees will be returned to me?
If I decline the return, they can leave me a negative, right? They have not left feedback yet. They have 28 feedback all 100% , I have 933 all 100%. All that for just $1.31 profit! So little!
Plus, why would the buyer want to pay $2.66 to mail it back for me to refund the $5.25, so net is only $2.59 to buyer? I don't get it? Can anyone with any experience help?

My time ran out, but I was going to add: Some forum members might suggest to fight it, since you did state 'no returns' in the listing (which would not matter if it was a SNAD, but that is not the issue here). So you just have to decide what is the best course for you, taking the chance of a negative into account.
I have taken returns a few times over the years that were similar to this; buyer mistake or remorse. Those customers sometimes come back to purchase again, because of how the situation was handled. Just something to think about.

Personally, I would just take the return. It is a small loss of $, and is good customer service, even though you did not do anything wrong here. And yes, they could leave a negative, so that small amount of money wouldn't be worth that chance to me.
Your listing did say no returns. Maybe if you accept the return, reminding them that they will need to ship it back (buyer paid) they might just decide it is not worth the trouble. One can hope anyway.

All buyer feedback is positive which is why they have 100%, assuming they don’t sell anything.
You have three options:
1) Tell the buyer “well, I don’t normally accept returns as I state on my listing, but I want you to be happy so yes, please return the widget and I will fully refund your purchase price. I hope this helps you out!” and then most likely they will realize that they have to pay the return shipping and drop it because you were agreeable and nice about accepting the return as a special exception to them only. You probably won’t receive any feedback, but you never know.
B) Tell them that you don’t accept returns as stated in your listing, you are sorry, and risk the negative.
Or) you can refund in full and hope for the best.
It’s a gamble, but it’s however you feel about the situation.
Let us know what you decide!

It wouldn’t even be fighting it. With no returns the op would just have a decline button

This is a battle not worth fighting.
Refund and BBL.

It's such a small amount, personally I would just refund. They won't leave you a negative if you refund so realize you are risking that for less than $5.
I would write them, as others have suggested, and say that my listing said no returns but I want them to be happy to please return for a refund. Plus do you even want it returned to you? Just give it more thought.
Best of luck to you....
If it came back, it could be resold. I never let a buyer keep something for nothing, and at least in this situation it would be coming back at the buyer's expense.

Spending more of your own time's worth in money on this whole process than the profit made from reselling it is silly.
