Buyer isn't cooperating in return of item

Buyer harassed me to get them a refund due to tracking number not updating. I refunded since they messaged me daily demanding a refund (as well as accusing me of scamming them). USPS tracking number updated a day after I refunded them and was delivered.

I politely asked if they could "return to sender" the received package, but they've since been ignoring my messages after 3 days of them receiving the item and they left a negative review stating I'm a scammer, which is pretty outrageous.

What are my options? Thanks!!

edit: technically, their package was delayed due to the USPS Los Angeles area was heavily backed up, so I get their frustration, but accusing and harassing is extremely rude.

Did the buyer open a INR case on eBay? If not, your out of luck.  Never refund a buyer unless they have opened a  case on eBay. By just refunding them you lost what little seller protection that you had. eBay can not help you.

Also, never get into a message battle with a buyer. You should have just sent them the tracking number and let it go at that.

Now if the buyer did open a INR case, come back and let us know, you have the option of filing an appeal if tracking shows item was delivered.

Oh, and the feedback may be eligible for removal because to the name calling. You can go to Help & Support and search for Feedback. Should be a link there to request removal.

Well, learned from my mistakes. But geez, some people are just immature on this site. Next time, I'll just leave it at the tracking number over going back and forth with abusive users.

Not sure what an INR case is, but the buyer did open a case that gave me options such as refunding them, adding a tracking number, and contacting them. The tracking number does show that it was delivered in their mailbox.

OK, good. You can go here and file an appeal with the proof of

delivery.  https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/managing-returns-refunds/appeal-ebays-decision-return-missing-item...

Good luck.

Hm, seems like the name-calling reason was't enough in eBay's eyes. Oh well. 😞

Since your buyer has already been refunded their original payment, unfortunately it is likely you will be informed there is nothing ebay is able to do in this matter.

Only if the name calling consists of profanity or something racial, religious, political.

Yea sadly I agree with @ed8108 . The sad part of his USPS back up is that many newbie or novice sellers will have a tougher time selling versus before. You gotta know your ins and outs more and expect to get a much higher increase of POed buyers and have the skill to deal with them correctly. Not for the faint hearted.

Not a good time for anyone to start selling on eBay during this time.

@buy_n_easy - Listen sorry this happened but I do hope you can learn from these experiences to find ways of selling that will help you. I noticed that you already have five negatives with all basically saying item wasn't received. That does make you come across as a flaky seller and will turn people away from you. You could be selling even more.

What I suggest is that you get your packages scanned by USPS rather than handing them to your postal carrier. That's based on your comment. You can't avoid the current PO delays but your buyers seem more upset that they aren't seeing the tracking movement. If you get that first scan it lets your buyer know that you did in fact ship the item. It will says USPS in possession of item and have the date. That's usually pretty good for the buyer to know their item did get shipped.

I know it takes time to wait for the scans but it will help you to sell more in the end. Think about it. Best of luck to you....
