I have a buyer for a porcelain doll who wants me to take the doll’s head apart before shipping. I don’t know anything about dolls and don’t feel comfortable doing this. The buyer has harassed me throughout the entire listing and I’m sure will give me a hard tome if I ship without following her instructions. Is there a way to cancel the sale?

If you cancel they will leave a negative feedback. Ship it however you want. If it gets broken it is your responsibility anyway. Some people are genuinely crazy.

Yes... this is a dicey situation.
The best way to protect yourself is that the 'disassembly' needs to take place, you relist and they re-buy. Personally (and if you don't feel good about it), I'd not do that. ... Not my first recommendation.
If you deny this service (that your buyer has requested) and your buyer won't pay... I could justify 'The Buyer Requested' as a reason for cancellation of the order. ... My recommendation.
The whole scenario sound as if it could go South quickly. Sorry you're facing this.

Are they asking you to take steps involving cushioning the doll's movable eyes? This is a known hazard in shipping some dolls and you should try to follow their instructions. If the doll arrives broken, you'll end up paying for return shipping as well as a full refund.
However, the next time a buyer becomes difficult and demanding BEFORE the auction ends, you can avoid all this headache by canceling their bid and putting them on your blocked-bidder list.
Sellers are allowed to cancel any bid, and to block any bidder.

If this happened to me, I'd cancel the transaction at this point. Not a comfortable situation to be in... so get out and possibly cut your losses. If this buyer receives the doll and isn't happy with it, it could cost you a lot more down the road.
Go to Help & Contact at the top of the page and as a SELLER find the item and cancel the sale. I think the buyer is being unreasonable and you shouldn't be forced to change or modify your item to please her. Refund and get out from under this impossible situation!
