I sold a ring ..when I purchased it the person stated they diamonds, I honestly thought the were did the fog test and it passed with flying colors. I'm not a professional gemologist just a seller. Well long story the buyer tested the stones she sent me pictures and she asked for her 295.00 dollar refund then she emailed me and stated to make our life easier she will give me 10.00 I declined then ebay sent an email do not refund until my ring gets returned by 3/16/21. Today paypal emailed me said that ebay resolved her request for the whole amt. for 295. Withdrew it and I have no ring. I'm upset because I was liking ebay selling.

When someone is unhappy, you have to stay on top of it, especially if they open an not as described case.
You have to be in it, offer a return label and refund them once the item arrives back to you.
Did you do all that?

Look for a gem tester, you can buy one fairly cheap.

If you are gonna sell jewelry you really should invest in a good quality diamond gemstone tester. Guessing is probably not a good idea long term.

May I make a few suggestions?
Consider buying a gem tester, and a metals tester. That will help avoid future problems.
Be very very certain of what claims you make on your listings, or at least say "may be" or "could be"
I see you have several listings stating both 'gold' and 'gold plate' for the same item, and 'necklace is a 18-in gold-plated' and '14-karat gold lobster clasp' for the same item.... are those all stamped or tested?
Also, I noticed you ship USPS First Class for everything...are you buying First Class insurance for your more expensive items being shipped this way?
Because otherwise FC Package and FC Mail are not insured.

That's not allowed on eBay: You have to know what you're selling.

Unfortunately, there's no such thing as First Class insurance to purchase.

The fog test? You mean you didn't get the ring tested by a jeweler? So you didn't know what you were actually selling.
Yah you kinda deserve what you get.

Yes, there is.
I often buy First Class insurance for my lightweight items that are valued at more than a few bucks.

Yes and no. They still deserve to get the ring back before the refund is given, regardless.
