The buyer wanted a refund before I sent it out to him, and I simply told him no I don’t offer refunds, which is what my listing said. And he tried to open a case when he got it, BUT, it was closed within 24 hours because he received the product, and did not further complain. He used the product for 6 days, and then today opens a case claiming “ it arrived damage “ I’ve never felt with a more shady buyer in my life. He used the product for 6 days, and then today he decided to open a case saying it “ arrived damaged.” But my thing is that is a whole 6 days later, obviously he is lying. But my funds are put on hold so I don’t know what to do.

All I can say is, if someone really wants out of a sale, do it !!!
This is what happens.
I would agree to a return.
Unless there is something I am missing here, you will likely loose if eBay gets involved.
You may have some leverage, but buyers have a Money Back Guarantee.
Good luck.

If you hadn't shipped it, why didn't you just cancel the order?
Now you have to pay return shipping and still give the buyer a full refund.

Then why do you have free returns? Free returns means that you get to accept the return and refund when it comes back regardless of the reason.

That post was quoting the original post ... I don't believe that represents the opinion or belief of the user who posted it. According to the emojis they added, they think that is ROFL - funny times three.

I am dealing with a buyer who had my item for 20 days . Then claimed a return by saying it was damaged during shipping. He posted pictures of damage but what I was able to notice is the condition damage he claimed on the book was already there before he purchased the book therefore he was lying. No I believe this is where sellers need to start taking a stand. I denied his claim and told ebay I'm going to fight this fraudulent claim .I believe the policy protects buyers sure but when you lie or commit fraud the policy is now void and you are no longer covered. I will prove to ebay common sense tells you this buyer is lying.
As for you sir I would fight and fight hard no buyer telling the truth holds an item for 6 days .
More sellers need to start standing up to buyers like this start refusing the return and fight back if we continue to give in they will continue to do it to the next person...my buyer is pathetic to be honest he spent 600 dollars kept my item for 20 days then used pictures of condition damage that's was clearly there before purchase and tried to say it happened in shipping well sir that's impossible. So like I said I'm fighting to the end if I win he has a constant reminder not to screw people over if I loose I loose it all . But atleast I fought back .

You won't win! Buyer will get refund (from your funds) and keep item.

Will see I guess maybe you should start standing up instead of assuming everyone will loose . Part of the problem is no offense comments like yours

Stating Ebays policy is not 'part of the problem'..i would say pick your battles because you wont win this one. If you are depending on your pictures showing the problem, you wont have a leg to stand on. And by refusing his return, Ebay will refund him, he will keep the book, and you will get a major defect. Sorry, but those are the Ebay facts with snads. Better to provide a return label, and refund after return. Good luck.

Sorry -- Your "I don't offer refunds" stance simply will not fly with eBay.
All your buyer has to do is open a case for item not as described (as in damaged) and you, the seller, will be required to send him a prepaid return label, and to refund in total when the item is received back. If you refuse to do that, eBay can, and probably will, refund him from your funds and allow him to keep the item.
Have you read eBay's Money Back Guarantee for buyers? It applies to sellers as well, because it outlines the buyer's options if/when a transaction goes wrong.

Sounds like it would have been a whole lot easier just to cancel the order like the buyer wanted instead of forcing them to file a case. Oh well, that boat has sailed now.
On Ebay there is no such thing as no refunds.
All Ebay buyers have the money back guarantee that is good for 30 days. Sellers need to read it and understand it. https://www.ebay.com/help/policies/ebay-money-back-guarantee-policy/ebay-money-back-guarantee?id=421...
Ebay does not get into a he said, she said when it comes to returns. Ebay doesn't know what the seller sent or what the buyer received. All they do is reverse the transaction when a return is opened - the buyer sends the item back and they get refunded.
You need to accept the return and send the return label. Once you get the item back you refund in full. If you do not respond in the case and accept the return eBay will refund the buyer without requiring a return and you will receive a non-performance defect.
When you get the item back and it is in the same condition as you sent them, you can report the buyer for misuse of the money back guarantee: https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/resolving-buyer-issues/reporting-issue-buyer?id=4084 This will go on the buyer's record, and if they have X amount (Ebay will not say how many) they will lose their money back guarantee privileges.
You will also be able to appeal the return after you refund and report the buyer, not before.
Depending on your seller status you may be able to withhold up to 50%
You can read about that here: https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/managing-returns-refunds/handle-return-request-seller?id=4115
