So I sold a fast charger to a buyer a few weeks ago and I sent out the item to them. The day they received it, the buyer messaged me stating that the charger would not even function. I assumed it was a faulty charger so I told the buyer to initiate a return and I'll accept it. When the item arrived, I tested it out on my phone and it worked perfectly fine. The thing that bums me out was that the shipping costs to send the item to the buyer and the shipping costs on the return ended up costing more than the actual value of the charger. I messaged the buyer claiming that the charger was perfectly functional and I am waiting on a response. What should I do?

Either the buyer lied or he didn't use it correctly. Not much you can do about either.

Refund the original payment minus the shipping cost. Obviously, your buyer found a cheaper charger.

While that might be true, the OP will be required to refund the full amount along with return shipping if the buyer filed a SNAD. In fact, the OP probably already sent the return label in that case before seeing that the item worked.

File an appeal with eBay over the phone to get your fees and shipping back.
