I recently sold a DVD/VCR combo. I don’t print shipping labels, I write the address on the box. So I wrote their address on the box and got it shipped out with UPS. They did not receive it and it went to the wrong address, actually wrong state. I don’t think there is anyway I could of wrote the wrong address. The box went to PA and they live in WA. I checked all the items that I sold in the day I shipped this, and none of them have the same address. I don’t know where I would of got the address from if it wasn’t theirs. They want a refund, but I have a feeling they might be scamming. This is because when they bought it, they told me to not include the invoice. Is there a way they can change the address after shipment? Any help would be appreciated.

Did you ship the item with tracking?

When a buyer pays they can change the address and then you will see the same address on both ebay and Paypal. It can't be changed after payment.
Is it possible that you copied the address from ebay before they paid?

That’s what I bet I did. But it still doesn’t make since for the address to be in different states, does it?

I did ship it with tracking. I’ll read the money back guarantee.

The Ship-To: address that you receive with the payment could be anywhere, and under any name. The address of the buyer that you see prior to payment is simply the address they used when signing on to eBay. You must wait to be paid before you will find out what their actual shipping address will be.
They are free to have multiple shipping addresses, and they pick the one to which they want to send their package at the time that they send their payment. Once payment is received, the Shipping form will update with the destination that they have selected, and you ship it there.
Unfortunately if you jump the gun and address the package before receiving payment, you may end up sending it to the wrong location.

So what should my next move be? Should I just refund and forget about it? Or something else.

It's a tough lesson but essentially yes.
Cheers and Good Luck!

Where exactly is the package now? Did UPS deliver it, or is it being held, or forwarded, or...? What does the tracking show?
Unless you can redirect it to the buyer's correct address, it sounds like you will need to refund him. If you can recover the package from wherever it was incorrectly delivered (such as Googling the address to contact whoever's living there), you might be able to get the item back, but the buyer will need to be refunded before the dispute deadline if he has filed an Item Not Received dispute.

The package was delivered to a house. I will refund the buyer. I will also try to get in contact with whoever it was delivered to.

Sure it does. I have purchased many things that I change the 'ships to' address to send it directly to family and friends. Also on my mail route I have several snowbirds who buy on-line I have told some that buy on-line a lot that they will get their items faster if they change their 'ships to' to their winter location rather than me sending it through forwarding.

It depends. Is the package coming back to you? If so then send it to them at the correct address when you get it back. If it can not be recovered then just refund the buyer.
