Buyer accounts with no address

How is it that eBay allows for any accounts, esp buyers to open account with No **bleep** address on file. Really, sellers have the strictest requirements to maintain their account. Therefore, the same checks should be conversely applicable. I had a few big sales in the past that this happened and there were some fees that eBay did not refund as a result of this annoying process. Any other sellers experience this??

Buyer accounts with no address

eBay needs to do more work to verify address buyer submits at checkout - 100% agree and a lot of us have been pushing for this kind of improvement for years.

That said, if you cancel an order using the reason "problem with buyer's address" your fees should be credited in full automatically unless it was something non-refundable (ex. listing upgrade fee - which is a listing fee not a selling fee and would have been charged whether the item sold or not).

If you're not receiving a full selling fee credit on cancelling then maybe you're using a different process, or maybe there's some kind of issue you need to have CS review. How long ago was the transaction that resulted in a loss of fees?

More than a yr for sure. Even still, what can CS do to remedy the matter at this point?? Uggh, I'd hate to wait 45 mins (seems to be the norm for non-priority sellers) on the phone and not have any resolution for the matter.

Buyer might have been stuck in the weird, stupid captcha loop while trying to set up their account like I was when I eventually (about 1.5 hours of trying) created another account.

One browser I couldn't get past the captcha to enter my phone number to receive a code. I was stuck in a captcha loop.

Another browser never asked me for a phone number & it apparently had saved the email & name from the previous browser, so I was able to actually enter info like address, phone, payment and verify both email address & phone number.

It was such a mess that I didn't even try to buy anything with that account (and I intended to), but I wonder if I would have been able to buy something with the account created using the first browser. If so, there would have been no address there.

I think it's possible that the buyer has an incomplete account because the account creation process is absolutely bleeped up and eBay probably doesn't even know.

No that's way too long @ewsupply . After this much time CS isn't going to look at it. Best to try and resolve issues within 30 days. If you encounter another problem come here and ask right away (or contact CS). As mentioned above, if you need to cancel a sale the selling fees are automatically refunded, so hopefully you won't encounter that specific problem again.

This site must be riddled with bugs as it's been around for more than a quarter century. Personally not surprised at this scenario you're goin over here, lol.
