Bubble wrap ??

Where is a good place to purchase bubble wrap or the brown paper for stuffing inside packages for item protection?  somewhere that is reasonable.   Thanks everyone, SH

Re: Bubble wrap ??

last time I purchased from that vendor there was a serious issue with "their measurements" vs "real footage measurements", and their feedback reflected that I was not the only one having that issue.

I use my free eBay shipping supply allotment for bubble wrap envelopes and put items in that and then in a box.

Re: Bubble wrap ??

You can also ask friends and neighbours to give you their packing materials - people are glad to get rid of the stuff as they hate to throw it out. For a while I was getting it at my 'downtown job' - I worked in a skyscraper with a big freight elevator - offices would unpack items and stack the boxes, wrapping materials, filler, etc., by the freight elevator to be taken off, recycled, etc. I would roam around after hours and collect things. Once I got on the bus with about five giant bags of air pillows and bubble wrap lol - I could barely fit through the door and all the driver saw was a pile of bubble wrap coming through with an arm appearing to tap in. Another time I carried a huge box bungie corded to my rear bike rack. That was a hoot - it was windy and it acted like a sail. Later I had three neighbours, a friend and a community college dropping stuff off.

So it's worth checking around.

@bamaseller2010

If you live near a Barnes & Noble bookstore, visit them after 12:00 PM (noon), Monday through Friday -- and not earlier!

Ask to talk to their receiving manager -- they can supply you with FREE bubble wrap, cardboard boxes, packing peanuts, air pillows, and other packing supplies -- just for the asking!

Otherwise the store has to recycle or haul away as garbage all the packing material which they receive every day -- which costs them money.

But don't visit them on the weekends (they don't do receiving on weekends), or before noon -- the morning hours are very busy, and there's nothing available that early in the day anyway.

Good luck!

Re: Bubble wrap ??

Actually, although I am not a big eBay buyer I buy items from various stores. I cannibalize any popcorn, bubble wrap and boxes they use. So I get for free what someone else paid for. Such a bargain.

What is this "newspaper" you speak of?

I think they meant “news app,” but I cannot imagine filling a box with old used iPads and cell phones would be effective protection?

Copy that @buyselljack2016

Even if it is short, might be the best deal I can find on the 12".

FWIW, This is what I ended up with.

The rolls are 19" tall. Supposed to be 200 feet.

$34 and change, + tax.

The link is in message 27.

The stuff AMZ sells for 1/2" × 12" x 120' is $41

Re: Bubble wrap ??

The brown paper you refer to is commonly called Butcher's Paper. Do you have any delis in your neighborhood. Buy a bunch of meat and then ask if you can get some extra paper.
