I bought item (qty of 2) not as described, seller accepted return but "cannot offer return shipping". Seller is from Japan and I am in US.
I tried to login resolution center and see if there is option to let eBay know that I need the return label but there is not any option. So do I have to call eBay to get this resolved? I do not want to pay the return shipping as I do not feel the seller will reimburse me as he also asked me to change the season why I initialize my return request to "change my mind" which this was not true:
- he listed as his part would work with my model
- he confirmed with him before I bought them
- I made a note about my model
- I received the items
- He later changed the description that it would not work with my model

Thanks. Seller just told me that return label would be my problem so I do not have choice but to call eBay. I wish there will be some option that I can do without calling as I did it once and took me over 1 hour to actually be able to talk to someone.

🙂 you are correct, having call me back works well. eBay said they would ask for return label from seller.

Except the seller can’t provide a return label so doesn’t seem like a productive call. The seller has to provide the shipping costs through PayPal
figure out what it costs to ship back with tracking tell the seller you need them to provide you with the return costs you configured.
Also I find eBay on Facebook is incredibly helpful.

I’m sure the seller isn’t willing to do anything. The message to the seller is just to cover the ops bases so the seller can’t try to say the buyer didn’t let them know return costs. Just to make it abundantly clear the seller is the one not cooperating because the buyer by providing the return estimate has done their part

Thanks. After eBay contact him, he sent 1/3 of the actual cost that I got quoted from USPS. so I just emailed about the actual cost again. If he does not want to do it, I will need to talk to eBay again. This will also last time I talked to him. He wasted a lot of my time already.

$230.00x2 = $460.00

The seller just told me that would be the amount for the cheapest service that he found on USPS. However, I do not want to risk $460.00 and USPS actually states:
"The maximum value cannot exceed $400. Items exceeding $400 must be mailed using Global Express Guaranteed service, Priority Mail Express International service, or Priority Mail International service."

Anyway, thanks for the help!

Supposedly if the seller offers to only pay for service that doesn’t fully protect you (including if it’s one that doesn’t have tracking) the seller is responsible if it’s lots or broken or never shows delivered. Now I don’t know that I would trust that with that amount either though.
