Don't use FedEx to print a shipping label in eBay. They will overcharge you. Scam!! You can't dispute these charges in both sides eBay or FedEx. They just ignore you and make up their stories!!!😡😡😡😡😡😡

Excellent question.
I suggest bringing it up on eBay Community Chat, offered up most Wednesdays from 1-2PM eBay time.

Buying labels from Fed Ex on ebay you must know the dimensional weight of the package which is different from just the actual weight. Also for large shipments there can be these surcharges. I use Fed Ex express here with small packages and have had no problems with the quotes but I ship stuff that is less than 1 lb, in a 9 x 6 x 2 box.

Correct. This is where sellers are not getting the right quote unless they are using the dimensional weight. You must know this before buying the label.

Thank you for your reply . But I thought that's what ebay's shipping calculator is supposed to do when you enter in the package dimensions and actual weight, should not "dimensional weight" be calculated at this time ? When the seller chooses "the buyer pays shipping" option, there is no way to pre-calculate the price because the seller cannot know the buyers zip code until after the sell. The shipping calculator should factor this in . That's why it is called a shipping calculator !

Sent a package with a weight of 39lbs to Florida from Minnesota, with insurance and signature (Required) no extra cost, we were at approximately 48.00 through eBay. Got the Statement today at 99.00. Don't want to get technical however the problem is with Fed Ex not eBay. Fed Ex is the one that's changing the shipping costs on eBay packages. We also brought our item to a Fed Ex store where they know us and they use the Insta Pack product to package our product which we pay in person directly with Fed Ex. And they double check the weight before I leave! This is the 2nd time I have caught this overcharge (Reach/Theft). That may be why they do not charge you immediately, it takes about 3 weeks for it to be deducted from your account.
If you read through the different threads this has been going on for quite awhile 😞

Yes that is true that they are scamming in their charges, however you can dispute those charges. I just won one and eBay is crediting it back to my account, however that is not always the case as I did a couple of months ago dispute a charge and never heard back but they now are looking into that one too as I requested that they do. As far as "dimensional weight" goes, that should be calculated in the eBay shipping calculator otherwise its deceptive when quoted one price and then get a shocking triple charge on your account with all this nonsense "charges" I use FedEx a lot but now am very skeptical of them for this reason. Twice this year (that I caught, could have been more, I hope not) that they did this to me.
